Freshman - bah! We DO want a man - a REAL man.....grownup......yummy, delicious, brilliant, noble, altruistic, erudite.....blah blah blah - where IS he???????? we've given up........and we've realized we do live in teh wrong town to find this sort of thing. BAH!

Oh don't get me wrong . . . I wasn't talking about any sort of serious or permanet arrangement. I just thought he might be more . . . useful . . . than the Yeti. Have him clean your car if you want.

:( Annie and I do not know what to do with ourselves today.....she went on all my errands with me, but kept whining in the car.......when we got home, she ran outside and peeked into the doghouse, where Stinker often slept.

Awww . . . poor Annie. I'm glad you have each other. That was one of the reasons that I got Josie when I did. Maggie was getting on in years and I didn't think I could bear it to be without a dog.

Oh . . . and I have to tell you, I had a dream this morning that I got two MORE dogs. Both young and one was a tiny tiny poodle named "BillyDonny". And I thought to myself . . . who would name a dog that and why did I get a boy dog? Then I thought . . . "What have I done? I can't afford to kennel them!!!" Then my son who is currently 8 but looked like my brother when he was 14 (???!!!!???) said "No, the dog's name is BellaDonna" and I said "Why would anybody name a boy dog that?"

Hi Everyone- Angus wants to post wif me cuz he is sad about Tika.

I even pmed Richard a few weeks ago just to say hi. Never got a response. He has went MIA since my honeymoon. Maybe I scared him when I went to Rochester for the honeymoon....I cannot keep friends :) I scare them away.

Angus and I BOTH think that Rrrichard has some SPLAININ TO DO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was thinking of Richard with the passing of our Stinker, and the FABULOUS avatar he pimped of her flying through the air with a Superman cape billowing behind her. Susie, you should put it up again. I want to see this super girl again!

It is quite a ridiculous, and yet adorable tail. Very hilarious when he tries to wag it, as it doesn't swish...too tight a curl. It just quivers and his bum goes--very cute, perhaps, in a little pug, but just pathetic with an eighty-pounder...

Very good...we have a royal edict from our Queen. All Hail!

Oh my gosh- gus has WIGGLE BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Grrreat.

And I'd like to offerrrrrr up forrrrr everrrrryone's amusement that I seem to be 'white trrrrrash queen' today. Not only did I smudge up my mascarrrrrrra so my lashes arrrrrrre all chunky, I also changed my mind about what I was wearrrrring so I ended up at worrrrrk with a black brrrrrra underrrrrr a white shirrrrrt. All I need is a half smoked cigarrrrrrette hanging out of my mouth and I'd be perrrrrrrfect.

Jin, hey how have you been? We have missed you in the vortex!!!

Jestgar--Love the readable underwear. Kind of like the bumpersticker, If you can read this you are on my butt....Back the F*** up!

Sorry sillies, had to share

Good Day at work so far :):)

OMG- that is awesome!!!!!!!!!!!! If (and I mean if) I could create readable bathing suit bottoms for women they would read one of these:

1. Do not Enter :P

2. If you're close enough to read this, you're close enough to kiss my arse!

3. All's well that ends well (Kurt came up with this one!!)

4. I know how to shake a tail feather baby!

5. There BUTT for the grace of God go I (Kurt again)

6. Thar she blows!!!!!!!!! (celiac special!)

isn't Bella Donna another name for some type of opiate? Maybe this gender-confused dog was on drugs?

Yeah....quite necessary to have another furry creature at home whilst mourning the loss of the other one......I don't know what I'd do without my weasel.

TOM - that almost looks like my girls running on Carmel Beach...... :)

Julie - thank you for the announcement on OMG - and THANK YOU to those who have pooped in to offer condolences (even Tiffany came by!)

Hey! Hi, there, Photo! Let's see, now....cannot scare this one away....

Oh YEAH!! I barely got any response to my questions from this unanimous group(?) . . ..at least quorum . .. of hoverers !!

Seriously . ...is there some irrational process at work or is there a derth of confidence in one's hoverability preventing the use of the oh-so-simple (simple enough for men) maneuver of LIFTING THE FREAKING SEAT!!!!??

Where does raising the seat get us? Not like we are going to sit on what's underneath!!! Do you think we are going to then straddle the toilet whilst standing? Are we going to take our pants completely off in order to do this? Tom, have you given any thought to how the female anatomy works? Emily, quick!, Tom needs a flowchart!!

Welcome photobug. I see you're new here. I just want to warn you, that this thread is addictive and will drive you mad if you are not already there . . . I mean, come on in, the water's fine.

Ummmm....well....Having my bum touch the actual toilet bowl that's underneath the seat is, I believe, even more nauseating than coming in contact with the seat itself. I'll leave the seat down, and hover over IT (it's also higher, so less distance to fall if my hover is compromised).

Plus, all the men's errant pee is on the bowl! Gotta keep that covered!! (GREEN GUY)..... :o

So .. . .the hoverers won't USE the seat, but also won't move it into a sprinkle-safe position, making it .. . .nearly or completely(?) .. inevitable that a weeing will occasionally occur where others will soon expect to sit????????????

Grrrrrr started posting this HOURS ago when my stupid precious Sidekick rebooted!! That makes twice recently! Wth!!

So I went to TJoe's and roomie was back in town before I got back. If Amanda were to tell her John where this John has been, he'll be very jealous and, in a quirky way, a touch impressed that you know someone who knows someone who was AT THAT GAME!!!

(That part might make a lot more sense to sports fans)

Roomie John was in Dallas anyway so stayed over the weekend and attended the big - no HUGE - win by the NYGiants over the Cowboys.

Now . ... . ...where was I?

OMG OMG OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! I get to correct Ptaum's spelling :P (never happens). It's deArth, you silly. DEARTH. as in, here in Fresno, there is a great dearth of interesting, yummy, non-needy men.

D'oh!!

LOL and I do know how to spell it too - I'm sure I've spelled it right in the past. Not sure why the generally vigilant internal spellcheck missed that.

But I have a theory lol.

The part of the brain that does word selection, corpus thesaurpus I believe, got SO stuck trying to find deArth - I knew it had a D & an R, & maybe an E.

It was so weird. I knew there was a word I wanted to use and some of the letters, and it took for-freakin-EVer to rifle through enough mental files to land derth. LOL

<never used 'rifle' before> <_<

Bah .. ... .the A . ... .. .and busted by susie - watch your PM Inbox for certain berating from someone who doesn't think 'wrong' should be corrrrrrrrrected.

I'm feeling okay for the most part...lots going on, but good I guess. You'd have to read the last 200 pages of the OMG thread.  How is your back/discs feeling? :)

I have osteopenia and have cracked three vertebrae.  Niacin is connected to osteoporosis! Do talk to your nutritionist and doctor about supplementing with B vitamins.  Blood tests don't reveal the amount of vitamins stored inside cells.  The blood is a transportation system and can reflect vitamins absorbed from food eaten in the previous twenty-four to forty-eight hours.  Those "normal limits" are based on minimum amounts required to prevent disease, not levels for optimal health.   Keep us posted on your progress.   B Vitamins: Functions and Uses in Medicine https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9662251/ Association of dietary niacin intake with osteoporosis in the postmenopausal women in the US: NHANES 2007–2018 https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11835798/ Clinical trial: B vitamins improve health in patients with coeliac disease living on a gluten-free diet https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/19154566/   Nutritional Imbalances in Adult Celiac Patients Following a Gluten-Free Diet https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8398893/ Nutritional Consequences of Celiac Disease and Gluten-Free Diet https://www.mdpi.com/2036-7422/15/4/61 Simplifying the B Complex: How Vitamins B6 and B9 Modulate One Carbon Metabolism in Cancer and Beyond https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC9609401/

Thank you so much for the clarification! Yes to these questions: Have you consulted dietician?  Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  Osteoporosis? Thyroid? Anemia?  Do you take any supplements, or vitamins? I’m within healthy range for nutritional tests, thyroid and am not anemic. I do have osteopenia. I don’t take any medications, and the dietician was actually a nutritionist (not sure if that is the same thing) recommended by my physician at the time to better understand gluten free eating.    I almost wish the gluten exposure had triggered something, so at least I’d know what’s going on. So confusing!    Many thanks!
    • knitty kitty
@JudyLou,  I have dermatitis herpetiformis, too!  And...big drum roll... Niacin improves dermatitis herpetiformis!   Niacin is very important to skin health and intestinal health.   You're correct.  dermatitis herpetiformis usually occurs on extensor muscles, but dermatitis herpetiformis is also pressure sensitive, so blisters can form where clothing puts pressure on the skin. Elastic waist bands, bulky seams on clothing, watch bands, hats.  Rolled up sleeves or my purse hanging on my arm would make me break out on the insides of my elbows.  I have had a blister on my finger where my pen rested as I write.  Foods high in Iodine can cause an outbreak and exacerbate dermatitis herpetiformis. You've been on the gluten free diet for a long time.  Our gluten free diet can be low in vitamins and minerals, especially if processed gluten free foods are consumed.  Those aren't fortified with vitamins like gluten containing products are.  Have you consulted dietician?  Have you been checked for nutritional deficiencies?  Osteoporosis? Thyroid? Anemia?  Do you take any supplements, medicine, or vitamins? Niacin deficiency is connected to anemia.  Anemia can cause false negatives on tTg IgA tests.  A person can be on that borderline where symptoms wax and wane for years, surviving, but not thriving.  We have a higher metabolic need for more nutrients when we're sick or emotionally stressed which can deplete the small amount of vitamins we can store in our bodies and symptoms reappear.   Exposure to gluten (and casein in those sensitive to it) can cause an increased immune response and inflammation for months afterwards. The immune cells that make tTg IgA antibodies which are triggered today are going to live for about two years. During that time, inflammation is heightened.  Those immune cells only replicate when triggered.  If those immune cells don't get triggered again for about two years, they die without leaving any descendents programmed to trigger on gluten and casein.  The immune system forgets gluten and casein need to be attacked.  The Celiac genes turn off.  This is remission.    Some people in remission report being able to consume gluten again without consequence.   However, another triggering event can turn the Celiac genes on again.   Celiac genes are turned on by a triggering event (physical or emotional stress).  There's some evidence that thiamine insufficiency contributes to the turning on of autoimmune genes.  There is an increased biological need for thiamine when we are physically or emotionally stressed.  Thiamine cannot be stored for more than twenty-one days and may be depleted in as little as three during physical and emotional stresses. Mitochondria without sufficient thiamine become damaged and don't function properly.  This gets relayed to the genes and autoimmune disease genes turn on.  Thiamine and other B vitamins, minerals, and other nutrients are needed to replace the dysfunctional mitochondria and repair the damage to the body.   I recommend getting checked for vitamin and mineral deficiencies.  More than just Vitamin D and B12.  A gluten challenge would definitely be a stressor capable of precipitating further vitamin deficiencies and health consequences.   Best wishes!

And I agree with Wheatwacked. When a physician tells you that you can't have celiac disease because you're not losing weight, you can be certain that doctor is operating on a dated understanding of celiac disease. I assume you are in the UK by the way you spelled "coeliac". So, I'm not sure what your options are when it comes to healthcare, but I might suggest you look for another physician who is more up to date in this area and is willing to work with you to get an accurate diagnosis. If, in fact, you do not have celiac disease but you know that gluten causes you problems, you might have NCGS (Non Celiac Gluten Sensitivity). There is no test available yet for NCGS. Celiac must first be ruled out. Celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the lining of the small bowel. NCGS we is not autoimmune and we know less about it's true nature. But we do know it is considerably more common than celiac disease.
