 OMG - you should SEE what I wear whilst at home typing or working.....I actually DO run out to mailbox in such scroungy attire, speedy fast......like a stealthy, slovenly, ill-kempt middle-aged bullet.

It CAN NOT be worse than what I wear! And, no middle aged bullet here...I am a SLOW slovenly, ill-kempt middle-aged snail. Tonight...choir night...I shall wear my pajamas. No kidding!

Bev--There you are...and with some nice new wordage for us! Never heard of that one, but will incorporate ;)

Gosh--I forget what it was like to get up and get "dressed" in the morning. Of course, I get DRESSED, but just jeans..... I'm sure I would get a <_< from Stepford

I feel good. My neighbors go out in their bathrobes.

nolens volens......must do etymological study on this phrase or can't use it satisfyingly and in good conscience.

Fun new word! I'm not sure if I'm confident on how to properly use it quite yet either.

It reminds me of modus ponens from logic class.

Lots of fun Latin in logic like reductio ad absurdum. B)

My friend Jenn said, in the whole time I"ve known you, you are always saying you need to paint a room...... 'tis true. At any given time there is another room to paint, more curtains to be sewn, more rearranging of artifacts, more furniture to antique and refinish. NEver, ever done.

Bev!!!!!!

Thanks for the new wordage, but I am just not clever enough to incorporate it into conversation.

I like willy nilly, it's just so much fun to say, rolls right off the tongue.

Oh dear Sillies- I am saddened by the fact (fat?) that I have grown quite UHM...PLUMP since beginning Lyme treatment. Thirty pounds! That's what I get for doing something about nausea on a daily basis and unable to tolerate more than 5 foods at a time. And I can't go out an rin a mile so....you will ALL have to pledge to dedicate helping me laugh off the weight- get out your funnies!

I think snorting is worth 50 calories.

Guffawing is clearly 100.

Laughing out loud...eh...200

Snorting is 250. Ok let's get started!

Guffawing

Oh, this makes me very sad :(

I've put on 20 lbs PRE lyme treatment. Gah, I can't have another 30 on top of that going through it :o

I better get to snorting.........

Well now, in England we have a fabulous invention called a letterbox....letters mail lands in your own hallway lobby!!! ...YES!!......imagine!!!!.......thus negating the need to go out in your dressing gown robe :lol::lol:

This is awesome. I bet all the houses don't match, either.

Dear gawd!!!!!!! Matching houses I cannot imagine

OMG - my wacky friend Gail once went through a drive-through in her bathrobe w/ an oatmeal mask on her face.....and she was in her......thirties maybe? I didn't even bat an eye......

Pure class!!! .......I like Gail :D

Only if there's WINE.....oh..and bring Gail ;)

I put on 10 pounds since August, but can't pin that one on Lyme...it's the cookies. TWO huge packages of them. Now apparently am stuck with the poundage for life.

Well, am jealous, to be truthful.

OMG - Gail is the wackiest of all. Extremely entertaining, you MUST all come and drink wine and paint with us. Oh, except she never helps paint.

My two favorite neighbors and I have the littlest, oldest, most run-down houses in the neighborhood. Just down the street they put in brand new 3/4 million dollar houses. I like to hang with my neighbor (in her robe) and her dog and talk about how much our houses are gonna be worth as people with more money than sense buy the houses down the street. Especially happy is the neighbor with the 800 SF house (with a wife and two kids and a big dog  ) since his shack house is even closer.

Dressing gown sounds so much more fabulous than robe

And does jumper=sweater? I learned that from Bridget Jones :D

Today is my one year anniversary of being diagnosed with Celiac disease! I didn't even realize it earlier today. I knew it was about a year ago but I hadn't really being thinking about the actual day. Ryan remembered and surprised me with chocolate fondue for dessert after supper!!! It was just a cute little bowl of melty chocolate with a small amount of fruit so I wouldn't get too much sugar (damn diabetes <_< ) but it made me so happy!

I feel a gazillion times better than I did this time last year and feel so lucky to be diagnosed. I think I may have been somewhat delirious with gluten brain and dehydration on the day of my scopes or at least that's my excuse for not remembering this special date until my fiance pointed it out to me. It feels more exciting celebration than my birthday!

'Tis so true, and I always wondered why the terms changed in the US......must look into linguistic shift. Probably becasue too many cultures amalgamated.........but why did a jumper change to sweater? and why in hell is it called a jumper anyway?

OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :o

Aesthetic Vehicular Felony sighted todya......there is a new Jeep..........extremely disturbing......it was all rounded and stuff, looked like a.........like a ..........well maybe like a Nissan Murano? HORRID - - Jeeps are meant to be SQUARE, NOT rounded!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

<what is the world coming to>

oh - um - did you guys know the peculiar fact that since high school, I know EVERY SINGLE TRUCK and SUV that there is on the road? Can identify all of them.......but have utterly NO idea what kinds of BMW's, Mercedes, Lexus's, or anything else there is....can't tell 'em apart......so anywho this Jeep sighting was particularly troublesome

I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".
    • trents
If you were off gluten for two months that would have been long enough to invalidate the celiac blood antibody testing. Many people make the same mistake. They experiment with the gluten free diet before seeking formal testing. Once you remove gluten from the diet the antibodies stop being produced and those that are already in circulation begin to be removed and often drop below detectable levels. To pursue valid testing for celiac disease you would need to resume gluten consumption equivalent to the amount found in 4-6 slices of wheat bread daily for at least two weeks, preferably longer. These are the most recent guidelines for the "gluten challenge". Without formal testing there is no way to distinguish between celiac disease and gluten sensitivity since their symptoms overlap. However, celiac disease is an autoimmune disorder that damages the small bowel lining, not true of gluten sensitivity. There is no test available for gluten sensitivity so celiac disease must first be ruled out. By the way, elevated liver enzymes was what led to my celiac diagnosis almost 25 years ago.
