Pzuezhee's foul mouthed neighboUrs!!!!!!!!!!!

MYGAWD Sooze! You did the right thing I believe ..... took the high road!!

I'm afraid I may have matched 'em wiv their profanities and told 'em to 'stuff their liittle snivelling yappy dogs ....erm somewhere dark and gloomy'

:ph34r: well, most of my life I would have LUNGED toward the fence and screamed at them (not profanities, EVER) and - caused a scene :unsure:

Am calmer without gluten......less combative :lol:

In fact, here's a mean thing I thought of doing today.......

Was pondering taking a walk, and actually walking by their fence ('tis Sunday, they're home) with Weezee on a LEASH. They'll hear the usual ruckus with their dogs, and come RUNNING out, upper body lunging over fence.......and I"ll just look at her, expressionless. :huh:

Sophie says I need to videotape them on me cell phone. Am pondering it, it's verbal harassment, she says, as no one's been hurt and the dogs are just being DOGS, fer gawd's sake. :angry:

But, that's just being petty and mean-spirited........God would know about my evil intent. :lol:

Dreamed that President Obama was gay, and sleeping with a man who wore a Humpty Dumpty egg costume, with just his face showing through.......and I was the only one who knew about it.

:blink:

:huh:

:wacko:

One of my best ones ever :lol: Kept pondering it throughout the night but cannot fathom -

what does it mean?????

Well let's see........

Let's suppose that Humpty Dumpty represents the country, since all the King's (President's....this referring to Bush) horses and men couldn't put Humpty (the country) together again. So obviously you think Obama is going to f*** up the country! :P

And in another dream.......in Monterey, somewhere near the Naval Postgraduate School, a HUGE eruption of ancient cordless phones (the gigantic first ones that were invented) from the earth.........thousands of phones that contained sensitive, explosive and/or military information? can\\\'t remember but \\\'twas dangerous :lol:

Maybe something or someone from your past is re-entering your life, but is quite toxic to you.....beware! <_<

This is fun :lol: ......let me take a stab at this one.......

Your best friend from middle school was a guy, so he represents people who can be a threat to your relationship with your boyfriend. The grandmother represents your boyfriend......very sweet, but will do whatever it takes to protect your relationship! :P

or........the best friend represents gluten and you (grandma) are prepared to fight it off and bury it from sight forever :lol: ......have you been tempted lately? :rolleyes:

but was he gay?????????? :lol:

It is a superb question. There may be much unearthed symbolism within this old rhyme .. . ....

Young Man Dumpty teetered on the Wall (Society), insecure in his sexual "difference" and fearful of the surrounding homophobia and intolerance....he fell into deep despair (and hence, off the "wall"). . ... . .....a broken man emotionally and spiritually, he could not be put back together by his guidance counsellor (king) or subsequent psychiatric professionals.

:huh:

:lol::lol:

This does make sense. . . . . . .

Now, I dunno where in hell yer new president fits into all this. . . . ....must ponder this further. . .. . .

had a discussion of Voice of Fire with my friend Sophie, whose whole family is in the art world. We had to google it - - look at the description of the painting this guy gives:

Think not of it as a pathway of a 'sequence' of gedankenexperiment simpletons where heir-lines are a prima facie case of a paradiachronic transitivity. Rather think of it as a chain strength possibility of what, eventually, comes out as a product of epistemic conditions, considered as the reciprocal substitution of semiotic material for a dialogical product in a dynamic reflexion.

So, is Voice of Fire a red stripe on a blue background, or is it two blue stripes on a red background? Inquiring minds want to know. B)

On a related query, what coloUr is the Canadian flag? The heraldic description is

Gules on a Canadian pale argent a maple leaf of the first.
I think that decodes as white with two red stripes and a maple leaf, which also happens to be red. :blink:

I'm too tired to work out either answer at the moment. Good night, all.

Morning, Gang!

That quote of Newmans' :lol::lol::lol:

I actually studied him a little whilst at Ottawa U.....I do remember some incredible word choice and imaginative spinning in his musings on works being marketed.

I clearly remember one afternoon when a large debate started amongst three visual arts students and the professor....it was the afternoon that I left campus knowing I was switching majors. The argument was whether "Voice of Fire", which at the time our gallery had just purchased, was more emotionally charged, more tragic, more apocalyptic than "Twelfth Station":

http://www.poster.net/newman-barnett/newma...965-3500791.webp

Which piece should be proclaimed Newman's new masterpiece? Which work has him more agonized, more in despair over the fate of modern humanity?

Yes, this was debated for the better part of an afternoon.

I collected my concentration coursework, and headed over to the English department. :lol::lol:

So, is Voice of Fire a red stripe on a blue background, or is it two blue stripes on a red background? Inquiring minds want to know. B)

Now THIS is worth debating! :lol:

Guess we would have to ask Mr. Newman. . . . . . .

<dem's some talented muthaf**** horses>

Yep....this is what convinces me fully that there is some deep symbolism woven into this verse. Who or what are those horses, really? Attempting to help this tortured, fragile-like-an-eggshell soul.. . . . ..

Barnett Newman would have a great answer.

Morning Sillies-

seems like forever since I was here. Don't have my darn DSL yet....Verizon is on my list!!!! So now I can only log in at work which sucks. The unpacking is coming along. I love the new place though and Lucky is enjoying it as well.

The neighbors are very nice. My mom and sister came to visit on Friday and they too loved it. I guess I best start some work. I'll try to come back a little later.

      Since 2015 we've spent extensive time in Italy and I've been able to eat their wheat products without incident. Initially, I was practically starving thinking foods in Sicily were not gluten-free.  An Italian friend who had lived in the US for over 20 years said she had celiac/gluten-free friends from the US who could eat Italian wheat products without problems. Hesitantly, I tried little by little without issues.  A few years later at a market, I asked a bread vendor if they had gluten-free loaves. Turns out she had lived in LA, said groups believe it's not the gluten that's causing our bodies harm, but potassium bromate; these groups have been trying to ban it.  Bromines and other halogens wreaks havoc to our endocrine system and, more specifically, our thyroids and immune systems. When bromines are ingested/absorbed into the body, it displaces iodine causing other health issues. Potassium bromate is a powerful oxidizing agent (dough 'conditioner') that chemically changes flour to enhance elasticity, bleaches the dough, and ages the flour much faster than open air.   Shortly thereafter while visiting friends in California, one family said they had gone gluten-free and the difference was incredible. The reason they choose this path was due them (a biologist/chemist/agriculturist scientist) having to write a portion of a paper about a certain product for the company he worked. Another company's scientist was directed to write the other portion. All was confidential, they weren't allowed to know the other company/employee.  After the research, they learned gluten was being removed from wheat, sent elsewhere, returned in large congealed blocks resembling tofu, and then added to wheat products. Potassium bromate has been banned for use in Europe, China, and other countries, but not in the US. Then we have the issues of shelf preservatives and stabilizers. What are we eating?  Why? We spend long periods of time in Italy and all has been good.  We just returned from an extended time in Greece;  no issues there either.  There is a man there we learned about on a travel show about Greece who walks the hills, picking herbs, pods, etc.  He is a very learned scholar, taught at the university level in Melbourne. It took a few days to locate him, but were finally successful. He too, is concerned about the additives and preservatives in American food (many of his customers are Americans, haven't been in the best of health, and have become healthier after visiting him). He suggested taking a food product from the US and the same product in Europe, and compare the different ingredients. Then ask why these things are being allowed in the US by the 'watch dog' of our foods and drugs. It would be amuzing if it weren't tragic. I'm presently looking for flour from Europe that I can make my own bread and pasta as the gluten-free bread is now $7.99 a (small) loaf.  BTW, studies are showing that many gluten-free individuals are becoming diabetic. My guess is because the gluten-free products are high in carbs. This is only my experience and opinion garnished by my personal research.  I hope it helps.

      Symptoms that get worse if you don't supplement is a sign of malabsorption, possibly due to Celiac disease. Blood tests for nutritional deficiencies are not very accurate, and should be done when you have been off of supplements for eight to twelve weeks, otherwise the vitamin supplements you've taken will be measured.  The blood circulation system is a transportation system.  It transports the vitamins you've absorbed around the body, but blood tests don't give an accurate picture of the vitamin and mineral stores inside organs and tissues where they are actually used.  You can have "normal" blood levels but still have deficiencies.  This is because the brain demands stored nutrients be put into the blood stream to supply important organs, like the brain and heart, while other organs do without.   If you are taking Thiamine Mononitrate in your supplements, you are probably low in thiamine.  Thiamine Mononitrate is used in many supplements because it won't break down sitting on a shelf.  This also means Thiamine Mononitrate is difficult for the body to utilize.  Only thirty percent of Thiamine Mononitrate on the label is absorbed and even less is able to be utilized by the body.  A different form of Thiamine called Benfotiamine has been shown to promote intestinal healing.   Talk to your doctor about doing a genetic test to look for Celiac markers.   I'm concerned that if you do a gluten challenge (10 grams of gluten per day for a minimum off two weeks) in your weakened state, the nutritional deficiencies will become worse and possibly life threatening.

      Hello, good afternoon!   I apologize, I didn’t see a notification and I’m just reading this. Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and the link. Yes you are absolutely right, even so trying to get a response from them has been extremely difficult. They don’t answer but I will your practice of “guilty until proven innocent.”   I like and have a sense of trust here in this website, everyone is honest and thoughts are raw. The mutual understanding is amazing!   thank you Scott!

      I'd go with a vodka tonic, but that's just me😉
    • Rejoicephd
      That and my nutritionist also said that drinking cider is one of the worst drink choices for me, given that I have candida overgrowth.  She said the combination of the alcohol and sugar would be very likely to worsen my candida problem.  She suggested that if I drink, I go for clear vodka, either neat or with a splash of cranberry.   So in summary, I am giving ciders a rest.  Whether it's a gluten risk or sugars and yeast overgrowth, its just not worth it.
