Is it really that bad to go to a quick-y place? I've always had my mother cut my hair, but she's in Florida and I need a haircut. I haven't paid for a haircut in ten years, so I don't really know what the protocol is. Help! Do I need to spend a hundred bucks for a trim?!?!

They really aren't that bad. We used to go to them all the time.....especially if you're only getting a trim. I wouldn't go for a perm, though.

My hubby used to be a body builder when we were dating....hubba hubba. The muscles in his thighs and butt were so big he couldn't get pants to fit......had to wear polyester. Pants weren't made 'loose fit' back then.

'Morning, Gang!

Ah, bargain haircuts. .... .. . ....I go all the time to First Choice (are they in the States? Not sure).. . ......where they charge fourteen bucks for a cut. With tip it's over sixteen, and I go frequently for trims, so I don't even think the price is really cheap, particularly for DH who hasn't much hair left, or The Ripper, whose trim takes ten minutes. I cannot imagine spending sixty, seventy bucks for a cut, as friends do - - nutty!

I've found one woman who is very good there, and I just go to her.

I really do wonder why she works there, and not at a trendy boutique/spa where she would make four times the money. Perhaps she is a great stylist, but stupid. Hell, that would be okay - - she's trimming my hair, not marking my doctoral thesis... . .. . .... :lol:

Yes!!!! This is exactly why I never work out lift weights became a body builder . . . I refuse to wear polyester!!

Wow, all of the worst of the worst must all move down here. My kids and I have been butchered so many times at various quicky places around town, I won't ever do it again. You end up spending twice as much paying someone else to fix it. I take Max to a barber and they charge 12$, My stylist charges me 25$ for Maddie, which is worth it since her hair is long, thick and curly. And I pay 50... But she's soooo worth it!!! And it's only about every 4 months.... :rolleyes:

Did someone say Baryshnikov? Was watching a Sex and the City rerun the other day- that man is stunning! He made ballet SEXY! I must admit, Sting is on my laminate list!

Aw...thanks for the song Karen. Actually, this used to be one of my faves. Brings back VERY happy memories of sitting in a diner with my Auntie Ann, my mom and my sister drinking orange freezes. I ALWAYS picked this song on the little jukebox in our booth :wub: :wub:

Hmmm....we needs to build us an ark here- it has been raining all month. The major river that runs from Boston into the suburbs hasn't risen this high since 2 hurricanes back in the 1950's! Crazy!

      Hello I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.       Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet. I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now. He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs. It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc. It's literally neurological inflammation. Not to be taken lightly here. We...

      Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-F...

I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

      Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

      Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
