When he comes to visit me, I'll put him on Puppy's gluten-free dog food. It stopped Puppy's gas.

Very well balanced food- has brown rice, chicken, carrots, blueberries, etc. Am thinking of putting the whole family on it. Makes meal planning so much easier.

Quick and easy, with a satisfying crunch! For a warm breakfast just add milk and pop it in the microwave! Use as a 'secret ingredient' in muffins! They'll never know they're eating healthy!

When are you coming over for dinner? I have the menu planned. ;)

Whenever I open a can of the dog food stew that I use sparingly with the dogs' kibble, I find myself really wanting a spoonful, particularly if I'm hungry. It smells and looks incredible -- just like chunky, homemade stew or a fancy, slow-cooked chopped beef casserole. I will spend all sorts of time preparing a stew dinner, chopping the beef, making the sauce, roasting it for hours, and the whole time I'm thinking about the cans of beef stew in the dog food cupboard, already made, smelling and looking the same... . . . . .....

Maybe I'll just try it one night with the family.

It would be a whole lot cheaper, too. Each of us would eat a can, likely, @ 99 cents each.. . . ..

Hey, Psills!

Just poopin in...

Spring break has been this past week. Got some clothes put in consignment, cleaned and organized the freezer, had lunch with a friend, salsa lesson, got a few rays B) .....

.....but, of course, didn't get as much done as hoped. Hubby had yesterday off so we packed a lunch, hopped on his new motorcycle, rode down to Brown County, and spent the day shopping in Nashville (Indiana). It was a gorgeous day! Pooped out today and totally wasted the whole day <_<

Oh, well. Back to work on Monday :(

Do you think the Yeti could do our taxes? Keep putting it off. I know we're gonna owe.....not looking forward to it

ummmmm . . . . . . I don't think I would try that, he would more likely eat yer documents then to enter the appropriate figure on line 12b.

Easter egg hunt is over . . . Skeeter challenged the Easter Bunny yesterday by requesting an outside search because inside was "boring" . . . The Easter Bunny still hid eggs inside but was much tougher this year . . . The Easter Bunny almost made Skeeter cry . . . . . . The Easter Bunny found it amusing. ;)

If you had a fun day spending quality time with Hubby & a motorcycle then the day twas not wasted.

Don't worry about the taxes, I hear it takes several years for them to catch up with you. ;)

Where is everyone? Enjoying the Easter festivities? Since I'm alone, I will have to sing:

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail

Hopping down the bunny trail

Hippity hopping

Easter's on its way!

(This is the only place that lets me sing. Family covers their ears & runs screaming, even Puppy).

People say that about me all the time! That I look cute and sweet, and then they find out looks are deceiving. And I'll fight you for chocolate, too.

Our big meal was in the evening . . . made the traditional Easter . . . lasagne :P

Also made gluten-free pineapple upside-down cake which turned out very well. Skeeter said it was "OK, except for those chunks of pineapple" . . .

That made me giggle, thank you, cuz precious little does these days -_-

Things have been rough here the past week, won't bore you with details yet, just a really rough week. I did get to hang out with my sister all day Saturday and we went to the Muse concert, which was TOTALLY amazing!!! It did get me thinking though, things that happen in your life when you finally realize you're "getting older"

At my house, lasagne has been known to be the traditional Thanksgiving or Christmas meal. It's appropriate for any occasion.

I think chocolate & cake are the recommended remedy for a hang-over & liver disease.

Yes, damn right! One reason I LOOOOOVE having a dizzying, sweaty, shaky insulin reaction is that chocolate, as in so many other instances, is a great, legal remedy.

I had a very caloric Easter, as well. <_< Gads, I wish gluten- and sugar- free eating meant skinny, low-fat eating, as well. . .... . ....never works out that way, it seems. I can still have sugar-free, gluten-free chocolate, all nuts, cream, butter.. . . .oh, and of course - - WINE.

Crap.

I'm having a "clean" week. Absolutely no bad food all week. I have nothing bad at home, so it's just the potato chips and cheese at the conferences that I need to worry about. Day one -- check

Gah! Note where the pic is cut off -- just below me bustline, where the fat remains somewhat under control. Pan downwards, and yikes. ... . ....

<_<

Actually, I could put up a pic of my feet, as well, like you have done, Bunnie. Think I'm fairly lean-footed.....although they ARE unattractive nonetheless. Dry, somewhat gnarled...... . . ...

Yep, not puttin' one o' THOSE up.

Get tested for vitamin deficiencies.  Though neuropathy can be a symptom of celiac, it can also be caused by deficiencies due to poor digestion caused by celiac and could be easier to treat.

Thank you so much for your response  Yes it seems as though things get very painful as time goes on.  I'm not eating gluten as far as I know.  However, I'm not sure of cross contamination.  My system seems to weaken to hidden spices and other possibilities. ???  if cross contamination is possible...I am in a super sensitive mode of celiac disease.. Neuropathy from head to toes

EXACTLY! I was asked yesterday on my LAST video call with Standford and I stated exactly yes absolutely this is why I need the name! One, get proper care, two, not get worse.Im falling apart, stressed out, in pain and just opened email from Stanford stating I was rude ect.I want that video reviewed by higher ups and see if that women still has a job or not.Im saying this because I've been medically screwed and asking for help because bills don't pay itself. This could be malpratice siit but im not good at finding lawyers

We feel your pain. It took me 20+ years of regularly going to doctors desperate for answers only to be told there was nothing wrong with me … when I was 20 pounds underweight, suffering from severe nutritional deficiencies, and in a great deal of pain. I had to figure it out for myself. If you're in the U.S., not having an official diagnosis does mean you can't claim a tax deduction for the extra expense of gluten-free foods. But it can also be a good thing. Pre-existing conditions might be a reason why a health insurance company might reject your application or charge you more money. No official diagnosis means you don't have a pre-existing condition. I really hope you don't live in the U.S. and don't have these challenges. Do you need an official diagnosis for a specific reason? Else, I wouldn't worry about it. As long as you're diligent in remaining gluten free, your body should be healing as much as possible so there isn't much else you could do anyway. And there are plenty of us out here who never got that official diagnosis because we couldn't eat enough gluten to get tested. Now that the IL-2 test is available, I suppose I could take it, but I don't feel the need. Someone else not believing me really isn't my problem as long as I can stay in control of my own food.

If you're just starting out in being gluten free, I would expect it to take months before you learned enough about hidden sources of gluten before you stopped making major mistakes. Ice cream? Not safe unless they say it is gluten free. Spaghetti sauce? Not safe unless is says gluten-free. Natural ingredients? Who knows what's in there. You pretty much need to cook with whole ingredients yourself to avoid it completely. Most gluten-free products should be safe, but while you're in the hypersensitive phase right after going gluten free, you may notice that when something like a microwave meal seems to not be gluten-free … then you find out that it is produced in a shared facility where it can become contaminated. My reactions were much-more severe after going gluten free. The analogy that I use is that you had a whole army of soldiers waiting for some gluten to attack, and now that you took away their target, when the stragglers from the gluten army accidentally wander onto the battlefield, you still have your entire army going out and attacking them. Expect it to take two years before all of the training facilities that were producing your soldiers have fallen into disrepair and are no longer producing soldiers. But that is two years after you stop accidentally glutening yourself. Every time you do eat gluten, another training facility can be built and more soldiers will be waiting to attack. Good luck figuring things out.
