My life used to be so funny. I'm not sure where I lost my psillie mojo. I wish it would come back though. Even my kids haven't been saying too many funny things-that's REALLY odd!

Watching Bob Dylan on The Grammys--still looks pretty good.

Looks good, but sounds.......... not so good  Mumford & Sons though... Phab!!

Banana cake.....buttercream or caramel frosting?

Little late to the game, as per usual, but I'd go with a whipped chocolate ganasche ;)

One of our radio stations played " easy listening" & Christmas music starting in Oct. They have changed to all comedy. They play different comedians stand- up. I was laughing while I was driving.

One guy was talking about the implications of men with PMS. " better not invite Joe to go hunting, he's PMSing"

Reminds me....Mark was telling me last week that he was talking to a couple other guys at the office and I guess he complained about something because one of the guys said--"want me to go into the ladies' room and get you a tampax?"

Mark replied--"Don't use 'em, I'm past menopause". :P

I bought these "Drive and Learn French" C.D's to listen to during my commute. I lasted 10 minutes this morning because it started out talking as fast as you can, "Let's count!" OneTwoThreeFourFive:UnDeuxTroisQuatreCinq, MyNameIsJohn,HowAreYou?:JeM'appelleJohn,CommentAllez-vous?

I was getting so stressed out I had to turn it off!! I don't really want to pay 300$ for the Rosetta Stone.

You don't need to learn French. The French all speak English. Spanish might be more useful.

We have a French exchange student on the robotics team. Better English then the rest of us. Extremely polite.

Only if they want to  Now the Germans DO all speak English so that's a waste of time learning that language. I did the Spanish tapes in the car bit before we went to Mexico, (used to spend a lot of time stopped on the "free"way) and got these very strange looks

Mais Oui, we Canucks are the only ones who need to be struggling through French lessons....... . .. .

Gah! Well, as was suggested on Da Book, both men and women of ANY age could be using them as nasal drippage stoppers.....got the pull-out strings an' everything.....even different sizes.. . . . ...

When my brother got his wisdom teeth out, the doctor told him to get tampons from his sisters to pack the wounds & absorb blood for the first day. So my 16 year old bro asked me his 20 year old sis for tampons. Then he said, "Not used ones, please."

Used to be fluent in Espanol, but alas, you don't use it, you lose it. I know I have no use for French at all, but my mother was fluent in French as was my college roommate and I've always wanted to learn. My high school only offered Spanish and Japanese. I didn't want either one of them, but I did get to go to Mexico 5 years in a row to practice. Now if I can manage to learn French and get to France 5 years in a row.....

Um...NO. Good songwriter, yes. I thought maybe they had turned him mic off at the Grammy's bc I couldn't hear him over the instuments-which were UH-mazing btw!

Something is stinking in our garage. It's happened a couple of times this winter and we can't pin down the source. It gets really bad and then disappears all together only to resurface a month later. When the doors to the garage are closed, the whole place stinks, when you open them up, it completely airs out. There's no area of the garage that is worse than any other. The dog won't sniff it out either, she totally ignores it. I forget, why do we have her? She totally does not pull her weight around here!! You ask her to sniff out the location of one stinkin' thing and she totally blows us off!!!

Yeah--the music was too loud, but really good. I like ole Bob, though....

Do you have access to a cat? Evil Kitty, the neighborhood cat, checks my garage for hidden mice.

Once a bird got into our dryer vent and died--the laundry room stunk for quite a while..... <_<

We did put a mesh thingy on the vent opening--but of course this was after.....

Yes, I do believe it is that "something's dead" smell . . . but why does it come and go . . . and why is the dog not even remotely interested??!!!

I'm afeared that we need to actually haul everything out of the garage to find it and that's just not possible at the moment . . . hence, hoping that the dog would point us in the right direction <_< . . . guess we shoulda got a pointer instead of a mutt that is only interested in squirrels. That makes me think that it is NOT a dead squirrel.

Hi I've been told I need a MRI on my bowels , I was booked for a colonoscopy, but because of my sever back issues and trapped nerve it can't be done , the nurse told me I will have to have a manitol drink a hour before the scan , I'm just a bit worried has I have issues with sweeteners like even a little,  I get a weird throat and ears and I've read it is a similar substance , not sure if anyone has had one of these scans or could give me some advise on the drink prep thanks in advance 😄

Hi all ! Can a celiac attack be so intense that it causes your entire body to work in reverse? Meaning really bad pain,  neuropathy and muscle,  jaw pain,  the stomach issues , Horrible anxiety and confusion??  I had a Tums and you would think I ate poison. My jaw and stomach did not like it . Not the norm for me. Things that are simple are just out of control. Anyone ever have this happen??  I'm trying to figure out what I ate or did to bring on a celiac like attack. I had an idea before but yesterday I didn't have any gluten unless it was in a medication ?! Any positive suggestions ??  Thank you

The following two lists are very helpful for anyone who is gluten sensitive and needs to avoid gluten when shopping. It's very important to learn to read labels and understand sources of hidden gluten, and to know some general information about product labelling--for example in the USA if wheat is a possible allergen it must be declared on a product's ingredient label like this: Allergens: Wheat.
    • trents
Tammy, in the food industry, "gluten free" doesn't mean the same thing as "no gluten". As Scott explained, the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) allows food companies to use the "gluten-free" label as long as the product does not contain more than 20 ppm (parts per million) of gluten. This number is based on studies the FDA did years ago to determine the reaction threshold for those with celiac disease. And the 20 ppm figure works for the majority of celiacs. There are those who are more sensitive, however, who still react to that amount. There is another, stricter standard known as "Certified Gluten Free" which was developed by a third party organization known as GFCO which requires not more than 10 ppm of gluten. So, when you see "GFCO" or "Certified Gluten Free" labels on food items you know they are manufactured with a stricter standard concerning gluten content. Having said all that, even though you may read the disclaimer on a food item that says the spices may contain wheat, barley or rye (the gluten grains), you should be able to trust that the amount of gluten the spices may contain is so small it allows the total product to meet the requirements of gluten free or certified gluten free labeling. I hope this helps.
