To your list of "Things that sound a lot more fun than they actually are." add:

Chasing after chickens who have just taken a dirt bath while it's raining.

:P :P <- spitting dirt out of my mouth

Now..now.. The chickens had a lot of fun!

It was such a mess. I almost got the first one and she freaked and sprayed me with dirt. So now my eyes are streaming from the dirt in them and I'm spitting it out of my mouth, and it starts to rain. I dust off a bit and manage to catch her and stuff her in the coop, then go after the other one. By the time I catch her it's really raining so when I pick her up she coats me with mud. And this is not chucks of dirt, this is the fine dust that has settled into her feathers that she manages to spray me with and it sticks to my wet face and arms. I think only a mud spraying device could have been a more effective dirtifier.

Jyesss's kids are now going through that stage where she's counting the moments until they move out. . .. . . .... :P

Not sure what that could be. Be careful! It might burn!

Its been cloudy here but no rain on the radar. Got ready to go out & plant some flowers. Opened the door and it started pouring! Guess I'm not supposed to garden today.

Just got back from the Chimacum Farmer's Market where I purchased half a cow from someone who is lucky he was born into a farming family....:ph34r:

As a bonus I got to hear Ravel's Bolero on banjo.

Was watching the last few laps of the Indy 500. When I first started watching, a guy named Baguette was leading! Since his first name wasn't Gluten Free, I hoped he wouldn't win. He didn't. He had to make a pit stop.

No surprise that he had to make a pit stop..... . . . .he's not gluten-free, so frequent , there's-no-way-I-can-put-this-off bathroom visits happen regularly, I reckon.....cripes, that must play hell with his times... .. ....

This seems to be my day for telling people I like their pics.

Okay, I'll ask the obvious question - HIH is that going to fit in your refrigerator? And was it the right or left half?

elye Community Regular

I'm assuming that Jyesss has a good-sized chest freezer.

Hmm. Left or right half. . . . . ....is one better than the other? I suppose that would depend on whether the poor creature was right or left-handed - - its dominant side would likely be ropey and tough, with all that used muscle matter... . . . . . ... ..

Right, then, so anyone who's considering butchering me for their freezer, call dibs on my RIGHT half, as I'm a southpaw.....

Front half or back?

psawyer Proficient

Front half or back?

I'd want the back half, cuz you have to feed the front half.

mushroom Proficient

Yeah, but look what comes out the back half

It'll be a month before we get it. They actually take the cows in for "processing" per order. I'm dividing it up amongst me, BE, and some friends of mine.

OMG

Love how they have the "starter" products.. . . . . .but DH would need the industrial, "sewn around the edges", reinforced model.. . . ..

Or, wait!! He should probably just move to the big guns - - that suit at the bottom of the page that you just zip around your entire body.......

elye Community Regular

Um.. . . . ..and incidentally, no, I don't have this page constantly coming up. .. ...... . ...what's goin' on with you, Jyessss?

Thank you both very much. I’m pretty familiar with the various tests, and my older two girls with official dxs have even participated in research on other tests as well. I just felt overwhelmed and shocked that these recent results (which I found pretty dang conclusive after having scott clean labs just six months ago) would still be considered inconclusive. Doc said we could biopsy in another six weeks because my daughter was actually way more upset than I anticipated about the idea of eating it for years before doing another biopsy. It doesn’t hurt her, but she’s afraid of how it may be hurting her in ways she can’t feel. She’s currently eating mini wheats for breakfast, a sandwich with lunch, and a side of pasta along with every dinner, so I’m hoping we’re meeting that 10g benchmark mentioned in that second article!

Have you tried a genetic test to look for Celiac genes?  No gluten challenge required.

Hello, @ElisaAllergiesgluten, Have you tried going on a low histamine Paleo diet like the Autoimmune Protocol diet?  A low histamine AIP diet would help your body rid itself of the extra histamine it's making in response to allergies.  Are you Celiac as well?   Since we need more thiamine when we're stressed, adding Benfotiamine, a form of Thiamine Vitamin B 1, can help the body calm down it's release of histamine.  Benfotiamine improves Sailors' asthma.

Don't skimp on the gluten daily while undergoing the gluten challenge!

So, I've been using a gluten free labeled toothpaste since being diagnosed with celiac. No big deal, the toothpaste seems to work. Question is, I just realized it contains hydrated silica.  Now, I've heard that silicon dioxide can cause issues in some people with celiac (was that ever confirmed though?), so to be safe, I cut it out of my diet entirely. But, as I understand it, hydrated silica is related to silicon dioxide. Is that something to worry about, or is the hydrated form not known to cause issues like the silicon dioxide form?  I've never seen it in food, but nearly every toothpaste I look at contains hydrated silica?  Issue or not?  Any scientific research (Not opinion pieces, not health bloggers, you get my gist), but actual science, that says it's an issue? I have a hard time believing 99% of what I read on random internet searches.    Thanks so much, Renee.
