Flavored Coffee Creamers

I've gone and glutened myself again! I've had D for going on 3 days now. Luckily it isn't compounded with the stomach ache or nausea. I'm trying to figure out how I did it though. 2 things I can think of... one is flavored coffee creamer that I bought to put in my cream of rice, the other is eating a salad and side of mashed potatos at a restaurant. I read the label on the creamer and it looked ok to me... but I'm learning that that doesn't mean anything!!

As far as I know, Coffeemate Liquid flavored creamers were ok the last i checked. What brand did you use?

KrisT Explorer

It is Coffeemate's new flavor Coconut Creme.

My motto: when in doubt, suspect restaurant cc. :P:lol:

CoffeeMate now has a gluten free label, at least on the liquid refrigerated variety. I have not seen the coconut cream yet, but look for gluten free in green on the back. Nestle is good that way.

My guess is cc from the restaurant. I have had the flavored creamers (not that flavor) and not had problems. Hope you feel better soon.

I just rechecked the label and it does have the gluten-free green thing on the back. (having a "duh!" moment!)

I guess it was the restaurant... but I've never had it hit me late and last long like this before.

It sounds like you have a very reasonable GI doctor, who diagnosed you based on family history and symptoms after eating gluten. I would consider you lucky! The other option would be to make yourself very sick by doing weeks of a gluten challenge prior to an endoscopy.

Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon
