Millet

I tried organic whole grain millet today and had a "intolerance" response. I am beginning to realize that perhaps my villi are gone so I can not tolerate any sugars or starches but I had my usual new response. Intense headache, 99.1 fever, flushing, whole body sweat almost 1/2 later exactly.

Anyone normally have a problem with millet?

I did an isotonic saltwater flush afterwards to try to get it out of my system, anyone ever do that - Does is help?

I just mildly intolerant to millet so I can tolerate it as long as it's in small quantities. I don't actually eat it but I do use part millet flour in my bread. I don't have the same reactions as you do though.

I can't seem to tolerate millet or sorghum. Don't know why.

I'm okay with millet -- my acupuncturist actually recommended it for stomach issues since it's supposed to be very healing according to Traditional Chinese Medicine. However, until I found it in a package, the only source I could find was in the bulk bin at my local grocers -- which made me suspicious of cross-contamination since it was right next to the wheat flours. I generally haven't had a problem with bulk rice, since I can easily wash it, but the millet made me nervous because the grains were too small to be held in any of my kitchen sieves and I wasn't sure how to effectively wash it.

Millet accually showed up as an allergy at my naturalpathic on a test. I tested it with some gluten free banana bread. Oh boy I had some very bad tighting in the chest for a few hours. I also get that feeling if I get glutened by certain things. I have notice it before with salad dressing.

I had the same reactions all of the time. I found that it was not a certain food but my salicylate level. Once I have too much I get the sweats fever and migrane headaches. I'm sure that's what is is for me. We are all different.

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.

Exactly which blood tests were done? There are a few different ones and some docs don't do them all. Also, your results and reference ranges for each?
