Vinegar-free Recipes

Sorry if this is a duplicate post, but I read and searched as much as I could and didn't see anything...

I have food sensitivies to almost everything as well as gluten, and I was hoping that someone out there would have a recipe or an allergy cookbook that would provide a recipe for vinegar-free ketchup.

Any help would be appreciated...

Also, here is my fav vinegar-free mayo from doreen T at the Adkins Candida site boards- Open Original Shared Link

Vinegar-Free Mayonnaise

makes 20 Tbsp

1 organic egg

2 Tbsp fresh lemon juice

½ tsp dry mustard

¼ teaspoon seasoned salt

1 cup olive oil

Blend first 4 ingredients. With blender running constantly, slowly dribble in the oil, a little at a time, until it's thick and creamy. It will become slightly thicker when refrigerated.

(*note - I add a dash of onion powder too)

Thanks!

I also have multiple allergies. I actually made a pretty good tasting ketchup just substituting lemon juice for the vinegar. But if you don't necessarily need the "tang", I also have made it by using all the regular spices and salt, but just not including any vinegar or lemon juice. It was surprisingly good.

Concerning your mayo recipe.....I am unfortunately allergic to eggs. Have you heard of anyone substituting anything for the egg in that recipe? I wonder if gelatin or flaxseed gel would work??

We are in the same predicament. My son can't have eggs. We are now avoiding vinegar. We really liked Veganaise, but now are looking for a recipe. Can anyone make a suggestion.

I used to have that cookbook but unfortunately I lost it in a move a few years ago.

All my recipes are vinegar free... there are TONS on the forums here I think maybe if you click on my name you can get a list of my posts?? I am not 100% sure about that... B) lol

I have not had vinegar since 2001

Good luck anyways!

Your mayo recipe is almost identical to mine HHAHAHA ;)

If you are looking for 'tang' you can use citric acid powder... you find it in the canning section at the grocery it's straight up vitamin c. The acid % is higher in that than either vinegar or lemon|lime juice

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
