Poughkeepsie Area Anyone?

I'm in the Poughkeepsie area and would love to meet some people from around there. I just got diagnosed a month ago, so this is fairly new to me. I feel like I'm getting okay at label reading for gluten, but now I have to throw milk into the mix. I'm getting a little bored with the diet. Anyway, just seeing if anyone else out there is from this area. If you are, please say where you shop and find the best selections for gluten-free/milk free food! Thanks

It is run by a celiac family and they sell gluten-free hot dogs on gluten-free buns... gluten-free baked goods... etc

I live across the river in Wallkill. I am new at this Celiac/gluten-free life too. Just diagnosed 6 weeks ago. There is a Celiac support group the third Tuesday of the month at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. I have been to Soul Dog. It was great not to have to worry about how to ask for the food. I find myself always apologizing when I am out ordering food now. So few people understand when you are out at a restaurant. I bought a book from Triumph Dining which has a lot of good informaton in it for places to eat across the country. There are several places in Hyde Park and other towns in the Poughkeepsie area.

I am not sure if this helps you for shopping, but I know there are lots of Wegmans in NY since it is a NY based store. They are good for gluten free. They have a good sized selection of gluten-free pasta and cookies and such. Plus they label all their brand products which are gluten free with a G in an orange circle.
