Does anyone know of a gluten free ferret food? We have one healthy, rather fat!, ferret left here, and his food has gluten in it.. he is eating Iams Senior cat food, aparently they can eat this, he has for over a year. That and the fish food are the ONLY things left in my house that are gluteny, and I want it out.. no more chances, but I dont know what else to do.. I would appreciate all help.. thanks!

Hi again! :P

I don't own ferrets, but I have a friend who does. She feeds than cat food.

Science Diet makes some gluten-free cat foods. We use the one designed for indoor cats who don't get much exercise. It's a dry food--I don't know about the other types.

Open Original Shared Link. Cat food is nutritionally adequate for the needs of a ferret. It contains higher concentrations of protein than required, but this is not usually a problem.

If you can find the Innova Evo cat food that is a dry raw diet, totally grain free food. My pets thrive on this brand.

      As of July 2025, Blistex is no longer gluten free for their five star protection lip balm The last ingredient is WHEAT!       @Ginger38, I'm with you!   I could not take Metformin.  I got so sick, constant diarrhea, abdominal cramps, extreme highs and lows, no energy, weight loss, muscle wasting.  Just horrible.   Metformin is known to block thiamine absorption.  Talk to your doctor about thiamine deficiency.  It's called Gastrointestinal Beriberi.  My doctor didn't recognize thiamine deficiency outside of alcoholism.  So I took over the counter Thiamine in the form Tetrahydrofurfuryl Disulfide and felt health improvement within an hour.  Magical!   I followed the Autoimmune Protocol diet to get my stomach calmed down and control my blood glucose levels without medication.       Thankyou I will be seeing my new primary this coming Monday and will ask.I did ask about some other blood test to look for that I saw on this website.I pushed the second ANA panel two months ago thinking it would show but found out it doesn't.I don't have lupus which seems what the ANA panel seems to only look for.I have come to the conclusion that doctors are like hair people meaning all hair places know how to cut hair and style but not all know how to grow hair.I was given tramadel for nearly 20 years to push through.
