Yesterday we found a new place to eat, and to my suprise the whole menu was gluten free! The whole menu, even cheescakes, tortes, and ice cream for dessert. So, if you live in Portland, Oregon or anywhere near there go check it out. Its Corbett Fish House (hopefully you dig seafood).. It was very good, and the prices were reasonable. Also it was the first time I have had any deep fried anything from a restaraunt since last year!

The Hawthorn Fish House is also gluten free. There is a rather large list of gluten free restaurants if you go to the Portland Gluten Intolerance Group (GIG) website! There's also a bakery in Sellwood, you can probably find it by doing a google search.

I live in Salem, so I don't really get up to Portland very often, but last time I did, I went to "oliver's" which used to be "pasta rico's" or something. They have the BEST pizza ever!!! I felt like I was cheating!! Delish!! Try it!!

I'm actually in salem also, and as you know there are only two places to eat in this town! Once a month or so I make it up to portland to eat somewhere else, its like my little treat....I've been to Pasta Ricos 5 times since I was dx, they have awesome pizza! I like the outback, but it does get a tad old sometimes.... :P

Ooh, pizza? I'll have to check it out. I live in Portland (well, for another week anyway).

The fish house is really great, some of the best fish and chips I've had, period. And gluten-free cheesecake? Yay food happiness!

There's a great little coffee shop next to the Corbett Street Fish House that has gluten-free treats. I'm eating a chocolate coffee cake right now. They also had bread pudding and a daily pasta dish. All gluten-free. And best of all, they serve yummy Stumptown coffee.

k i was in portland last month visiting my mom, and we went down to the former newport bay on the waterfront. i can't remember what it's called, but they made me the most delicious meal, gluten-free the chef assured me. it was a cedar plank salmon with risotto. and the risotto was TO DIE FOR! literally melt-in-your-mouth. it was butternut squash puree, rice and cheese. i so want to recreate it but don't know how. if you know what the place is called, hook me up, i want to call them and find out the recipe :D mmmm...my mouth is watering!

I have trouble with nausea. It often starts when I’m anxious about something (home repairs, sick dog) but continues long after the home is repaired or the dog is healthy again. When it happens I eat less and lose weight.  My gastroenterologist suggested ginger or peppermint tea. I don’t know if that will work or not because I haven't had the problem since she suggested it.

Hello  I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.  Horrible pain..plus acid reflux and nausea... sensitivity to touch pain. ..yikes !! I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.

Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

Hi all  I was diagnosed Coeliac a few years ago and follow a gluten free diet. The list of foods that I can eat without a problem grows shorter on a weekly basis. [I also have diabetes and asthma also].  BUT the reason I am posting this is because I seem to struggle with nausea quite a lot, which is really quite debilitating, and I was wondering if others suffer from nausea, even if following a gluten free diet.
