Dining In Massachusets/new Hampshire?

Hi Everyone, I'll be in Massachusets and New Hampshire in June. I would like to stay away from chain restaurants if I can. Any ideas on where to eat Celiac Friendly? Thanks.

Hi Winki,

I live in Boston, so maybe I can help.

There's a restaurant in Cambridge called The Elephant Walk that has a celiac menu. I believe it's French/Cambodian and pretty tasty. It's a bit on the pricey side, but it's a nice night out.

There's also a place called Cuchi Cuchi in Cambridge that supposedly has a celiac menu too. I say supposedly because I haven't eaten there yet, but my sister and her husband love it there. It's also been recommended by friends. You might want to call first to check on the celiac menu status.

Lastly, and the restaurant that I fully recommend for the gluten intolerant, is Legal Seafoods. It's a chain, but I believe it's solely in New England. They have wonderful, fresh seafood and a large celiac menu. They're are a bunch in Massachusetts.

hi

i had never heard of cuchi cuchi but i just called and they do have a gluten free menu!!!! i think i will try it this weekend. i havent eaten out in like 6 months b.c i get really nervous of cross contamination. has anyone else been there and not gotten sick??

I totally hear you, Jess. I had a bad weekend because of eating out (I was in VA).

Cuchi Cuchi is a really eclectic place -- definately the type of place I'd go for a romantic dinner or with my girlfriends if we wanted to dress up (I still haven't eaten there -- but I was inside once but left because of an hour long wait). Your celiac menu confirmation has inspired me to go this weekend! Thanks for checking on that.

You also might want to give yourself extra time if you have reservations, because from what I remember, there's only street parking nearby.

maybe ill see you there :) i think i will make a reservation for friday night! i get so nervous to eat out i usually end up ruining the night but i will try and be positive!!

Rancho Chio is a great Family run mexican restaurant in Plainville Mass..its right off 495

they have a gluten-free menu

      Hello I'm not sure what to think . Seems no matter what I do I get sick. I had some yogurt with only 2 grams of sugar and is labeled gluten free ...the strawberry version seemed to really set me off My jaw is burning as well as my stomach and my feet.       Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet. I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now. He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.       Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-F...

I don't know if it's from the lactose in the yogurt or if I'm getting an ulcer  This condition can make you question yourself quite a bit.  Then if you are not sure the anxiety comes 😞 Does any of these symptoms sound familiar to anyone? The neuropathy is quite intense.  What do you eat or drink after this happens  Open to suggestions  Thank you

      Of course my son is on a 100% gluten free diet.  I wish his symptoms were not debilitating as there are right now.  He cannot work, even when a miniscule of cross contamination occurs.  It's not just GI distress, but intense fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety, insomnia, etc.  It's literally neurological inflammation.  Not to be taken lightly here.  We have sought out many other possible ways to cope during this window of time (8 months!!!!)  without success.   AN-PEP does not help and seems like studies on this are not well researched.  So, we are trying this out because research shows some promising results.  And, all participants showed no cravings afterwards, no signs of addiction.  The patch is different than the oral route such as smoking, vaping, gum, pouch, etc.
