Natural/organic Body Care Products?

New Mama

I was loving Avalon Organics, but they will not confirm gluten content, and they appear to use oats in someof their products. :(

I need to find hand/body lotion, shampoo and conditioner that is not full of nasty chemicals and is gluten-free, but I'm a bit overwhelmed. Is there a list somewhere or another thread on this subject that I'm missing?

Also, is Dr. Bronner's soap gluten-free?

TIA!

A lot of Burt's Bees products are gluten free. I've seen a post of all the ones that are on this site.

Giovanni makes gluten free shampoos and conditioners, they have recently come out with some skin care products also but I have not checked those. I like the 50/50 shampoo and the Smooth as Silk conditioner. Badger Balm makes some nice gluten-free soaps also.

Giovanni shampoos and conditioners are really good. Aubrey Organics shampoo is pretty good (the conditioner is not gluten-free). You might also want to try California Baby.

I like Kiss My Face olive oil soap (it has about 3 ingredients)

Coconut oil is my favorite body lotion

I would be surprised if Dr. Bronner's soap contains gluten, but I'm sure the company will let you know if you ask (they seem gluten aware...their food products - Alpsnack Bars - are labeled gluten-free)

ShiKai Everyday Shampoo and Conditioner is gluten-free. Some of their other varities are not.

Jason has a nice liquid shower soap. They will clearly list any gluten.

Badger Balm is completely gluten-free, and they have some nice moisturizing products.

I've been using lotion, shampoo and conditioner from Desert Essence. It's not bad. The lotion scents are a little over the top for me but the coconut one is manageble.

Alba Botanica products are great.

I just bought a new product called Live Clean. However, I'm in Canada and I don't know if it's available outside of Canada.

I use Avalon organicas lavendar facial cleansing milk and day moisturizer without problems. I read the back and there is no offending ingredients. I use Giovanni or Shakai shampoo and conditioner.

When my wife attempted to open the online card in the store with a cashier, it would not work. We then showed the owner the link to the card, the online receipt that I got upon purchase, and even my bank statement confirming the purchase. That did not satisfy her, since she said she needed the link to open to reveal the gift ID num. They even admitted they had a systems problem around that time.

Was the card itself lost or just the record or both?

We were flabergasted that the owner would not acknowledge a $50 e-gift card I purchased for my celiac wife. My wife tried to open it in the store and was informed there had been a system change and they could not find the record. No worries, she was told, just talk to management. Six months later, and numerous absurd back and forths, and the owner literally informs me there have been "bad actors", so she can't make good on this lost gift card. In other words, she accused me of lying and committing fraud... over $50! Please be careful with your orders and purchases here.

Yes, some people do get withdrawal from gluten but gluten withdrawal doesn't usually cause gut pain. Maybe more like general body aches and discomfort. We have articles on gluten withdrawal on this forum. You might do a search for them. Applesauce is very acidic and some brands have added vitamin C (ascorbic acid) which makes them more acidic. This can damage the stomach lining if you eat it too often. Especially if your stomach lining is already compromised. Ibuprofen inhibits the body's ability to rebuild the stomach's protective mucosal lining. That's why it can cause peptic ulcers. As strange as it may sound, low level irritation/inflammation stimulates the body to rebuild the stomach lining. There are two steps in this rebuilding process known as COX 1 and COX 2. Ibuprofen represses both COX 1 and COX 2. Celecoxcib, a prescription anti inflammatory, inhibits only COX 2, making it less likely to cause damage to the gut lining.

Do you or anyone know alot about ibuprofen  I wasn't sure if I was eating too much apple sauce.   Something is making my pain so much worse  I'm referring to the intense pins and needles in my feet and lower legs.  Jaw actually has tardive dystonia and muscle spasms throughout my back Almost like an opposite effect that a pain reliever would do. I'm fairly new to this. Whatever is going on seems to be worsening  Do people get a withdrawal effect from gluten?  It's extremely painful 😖  I'll post that question or research on the site  Thank you everyone for responding
