Did I Gluten My Hubby?

Hi all and please feel free to add ur comments:

I have a list of wht hubby ate yesterday and need some answers if he got "Glutened"

He eats this every mornin and is okay with it:

Coco pebbles and Vitamin D milk (he eats 1 bowl every morn at work and does fine)it was on someones food list this site as being safe ;)

but he had another bowl after I left for the store <_<

Then later after I returned from the store had "CANDY"

Which I thought were safe? they r : they were on someones food list this site as being safe ;)

snicker (mini's) 3 musketeer (mini's) plain M&M's

Then he has 2 ears of home grown corn-on-the cob with gluten-free butter

Then I made spagheti which everytime in the past it made us both have severe belly aches after eating it (maybe the noodles) but I bought wheat free gluten free :(

The sauce I used read as follows :

Ingred's : RAGU 100 0/0 Natural <_< Ingreds:

tomato puree (water, tomato paste) dieced tomatoes, corn syrup, mushrooms, oinions, green bell peppers, sotbean oil, salt, garlic powder, parsely, basil, spices, Natural Flavor.

So was it the sauce or just a virus cuz son and he both have had a headache on and on for a few days ( they thought it was that they need new glasses)

Has anyone else used this sauce before or eatin these candies ?

Please if u can help let me know !

Belinda

My local Celiac group gave us a warning before Halloween last year that mini-candy bars are not considered safe because, according to the manufacturer, they don't stop the equipment to clean between flavors. So crunch bars with malted rice and safe bars like plain chocolate have a certain amount of cross contamination.

Also, how long have your guys been gluten-free? Newbies tend to have a problem with dairy and the second bowl of cereal and milk may have caused problems too. But tummy and head, it was probably cross contamination from the mini-bars.

If anyone else sees another possibility, please jump in.

He also ate some of the 3 must. before I got home

He has never had a problem with milk or it's family , but I aways have .

So I took his candy bars away and told him he could still have his M&M's :D

He has been gluten-free since 2 months ago and only had 2 spells since 1. he ate soemthing from vending machine at work (animal crackers) 2. yesterday form candy bars

Thanks so much for shedding the light to wht was the culprit :)

I also e-mailed RAGU for any hidden ingred's .

Note for future reference that full size bars are okay, it's just the mini and bite size that have that issue. Don't lay a finger on his Butterfinger! :-)

BTW, Mi-Del Animal Crackers are really good and they make good bannna pudding cookies too.

Notes: Please beware of candy that is not in its normal shape. Often times, that means the ingredients are different, and could very well contain gluten. Bags of mixed treats that do have gluten containing treats that touch each other should be discarded due to cross-contamination. If there is a treat that may not be listed on here, do not be alarmed just check with the manufacturer.

Another thought...

Have you cooked any regular pasta in your pot? Used your colander for regular pasta? If so, there might be gluten in there.

Not sure about the sauce. "Natural flavors" could mean anything. I usually use organic sauce or make my own because it is easy to make.

We don't go the candy here because of so many food allergies so I don't know about that but I do know that they say to check the ingredients on the mini ones because they might not be the same as the large ones.

----snip----

That's a good one I had forgotten. It would be almost impossible to get the colander completely clean of gluten from previous pasta. Also any wooden kitchen tools? I used to have a wooden spaghetti fork, haven't seen another like it since diagnosis. I didn't get the word about wooden implements and cutting boards until 6 months or so after the diagnosis.

I do believe that people are under so much pressure up have a sleeping  pattern ,  with working and how households work these days , but in reality there is no wrong or right at to sleep , I believe your neighbour showed this with such a long life , I do exactly the same  at night many times so I hope I live into my nineties also , I have found one thing in life your body knows what's best so good to listen to wat it needs however unconventional that maybe 🤗

Try adding some Thiamine Hydrochloride (thiamine HCl) and see if there's any difference.  Thiamine HCl uses special thiamine transporters to get inside cells.  I take it myself.   Tryptophan will help heal the intestines.  Tryptophan is that amino acid in turkey that makes you sleepy after Thanksgiving dinner.  I take mine with magnesium before bedtime.

I live in the upper mid-west and was just diagnosed with marsh 3c celiac less than a month ago.  As a 51 year old male, I now take a couple of different gluten free vitamins.  I have not noticed any reaction to either of these items.  Both were purchased from Amazon. 1.  Nature Made Multivitamin For Him with No Iron 2.  Gade Nutrition Organic Quercetin with Bromelain Vitamin C and Zinc Between those two, I am ingesting 2000 IU of vitamin D per day. Best of luck, Known1

I am doing a gluten challenge right now and I bought vital wheat gluten so I can know exactly how much gluten I am getting. One tablespoon is 7g so 1½ tablespoons of Vital Wheat Gluten per day will get you to 10g You could add it to bean burgers as a binder or add to hot chocolate or apple sauce and stir.

Raising you vitamin D will increase absorption of calcium automatically without supplementation of calcium.  A high PTH can be caused by low D causing poor calcium absorption; not insuffient calcium intake.  With low D your body is not absorbing calcium from your food so it steals it from your bones.  Heart has priority over bone. I've been taking 10,000 IU D3 a day since 2015.  My doctor says to continue. To fix my lactose intolerance, lots of lactobacillus from yogurts, and brine fermented pickles and saurkraut and olives.  We lose much of our ability to make lactase endogenosly with maturity but a healthy colony of lactobacillus in our gut excretes lactase in exchange for room and board. The milk protein in grass fed milk does not bother me. It tastes like the milk I grew up on.  If I drink commercial milk I get heartburn at night. Some experts estimate that 90% of us do not eat Adequite Intake of choline.  Beef and eggs are the principle source. Iodine deficiency is a growing concern.  I take 600 mcg a day of Liquid Iodine.  It and NAC have accelerated my healing all over.  Virtually blind in my right eye after starting antihypertensive medication and vision is slowly coming back.  I had to cut out starches because they drove my glucose up into the 200+ range.  I replaced them with Red Bull for the glucose intake with the vitamins, minerals and Taurine needed to process through the mitochodria Krebs Cycle to create ATP.  Went from A1c 13 down to 7.9.  Work in progress. Also take B1,B2,B3,B5,B6. Liquid Iodine, Phosphatidyl Choline, Q10, Selenium, D and DHEA.     Choline supplemented as phosphatidylcholine decreases fasting and postmethionine-loading plasma homocysteine concentrations in healthy men +
