Carrot Cake Frozen Dessert -- Very Good

If you can find it, check out Good Karma Food's Organic Rice Divine frozen desserts. The flavor I have tried is Carrot Cake. It is absolutely delicious. I see they make a number of other flavors as well.

I thought I would throw this in for those who can't handle dairy. It has a smidgen of soy but this is way down on the ingredients list. I've had it a few times now and haven't reacted.

I just tried that this week too, & it's SOOOOOO good! :rolleyes:

I'm having fun experimenting with different treats like that, rather than assuming that life is over because I can't have gluten or casein. Good luck in your quest too!

Not sure if you canhave this, but for me goat's milk seems to be easier on my tummy. Open Original Shared Link This is the website of the ice cream that I found at my health food store. It has the same texture of regular ice cream with a little tang. Yummo!

Thanks for the suggestion. I have recently found I can handle little bits of goat's milk (I had it in the form of cheese). I'm not sure how I would do with it in any quantity. But I doubt I could eat this ice cream in any event because of the eggs. I am very sensitive to them.

I will read some labels in the store. I know I've seen goat's milk ice cream before; I just wasn't sure what it would taste like. Goat's milk cheese has such a tang to it.

horsegirl, it is kind of fun seeking out goodies. I didn't do this as much before I was diagnosed; now I feel I am entitled :rolleyes: I had to control myself yesterday when I went to the most gluten-free stocked store I've found (it is 40 minutes away with good traffic ... which is usually lacking). It has all sorts of gluten-free cookies, baking mixes, and the like. This store is next door to a vegetarian restaurant that actually marks on its regular menu which items are gluten free, vegan, or soy free, or can be adjusted to be. And there is a day spa and a cute little boutique right there too. I could REALLY be indulgent if I wanted to be :lol:

Oh, YUM! I just tried the Good Karma Mud Pie flavor. It was very good. DH even tried a taste (and he won't eat many gluten-free items without complaint) and he thought it was decent. The HFS here has numerous flavors, so I'm excited to have found this!

I just went to their web site - they look really good! I'll have to pick some up on my next shopping trip. Great for a treat, it has been so long since I've had ice cream.

      Have you tried AN-PEP enzymes, for example, GlutenX (who is a sponsor here)? A lot of research has shown that it can break down small amounts of gluten in the stomach, before it reaches the intestines. It might be a better approach than risking nicotine addiction, and the questionable research around this. I also hope that he’s trying to be 100% Gluten-Free.

      @fatjacksonthecat I have been doing some digging about the topic of nicotine and celiac.  I came across many studies that showed that the nicotine patch helped many with long covid and chronic fatigue syndrome.  I have a son who was diagnosed with celiac and his symptoms are severe when he is glutened.  He shows a lot of neurological inflammation and suffered with fatigue, brain fog, depression, anxiety and insomnia. There have been studies revealing that nicotine smoke actually masking celiac symptoms.  I also read that microdosing with a nictoine patch prevents one from addiction.  We are currently trying this out and so far it has lifted the brain fog and helped with anxiety and mood.  One of the studies I have read showed that it's not so much the dose, but the length of time a person is on the patch that showed improvements.  Many showed significant improvement as early as week 3 and continued through week 12.  We are taking 3 day breaks in between to make sure we don't down regulate the nicotine receptors.   How have things been for you?  Are you still chewing nicotine gum?  Perhaps, try the patch?  And how long did it take to ease up on your symptoms when glutened?

      @KathyR37, I would suspect that in addition to gluten intolerance, you have other food intolerances/sensitivities. This is very common in the celiac community. The most common offenders are oats, dairy, soy, corn and eggs with dairy and oats being the big two. Have you considered this? Have you tried keeping a food diary to detect patterns?

      thank you for your advice.   I have always taken them and I use Stonehedge because they are in a glass bottle, but don't have to be refrigerated.  I also like they are 3rd party tested and state gluten free. But you never know if something better has come alone over the years.
