Stress Reactions?

As of late, I have been working more hours, and dealing with a more stressful environment.

I have also been eating on the run, which occasionally brings a visit from the CC Fairy, always a fun experience.

I was wondering if anyone else has noted a much more aggressive reaction to gluten accidents when under high stress?

I am currently reeling from yesterday's CC'ed fries, and the effects today are worse than the usual ones immediately after when I am under less stress.

And I am terribly sorry for disappearing from the boards for so long, I have been horribly busy. My few free moments are dedicated to the restroom, Potassium supplements and my bed. I cannot seem to go more than a few hours without feeling emotional and physically drained, and I live in New Orlens, but have been standing over the oven at work in long sleeves in attempts to stay warm!

Please, tell me I am not lone.

You are not alone! First off, big hugs. I hope that you can find some time for yourself and get healthy again. I, too can't get rid of d when I am stressed or anxious. I think your body's weakest spot is compromised when stress is an issue. For me, and sounds like for you that is your gi tract. I go back to school tomorrow, so I get anxious about maintaining this schedule and missing my kids while I work, work, work. (I'm a teacher) I've had d for a week and don't think I've had any gluten.

For me exercise does help calm my nerves. I have to get up extra early to do it, but even 15 min. on the treadmill helps me out.

I hope some sanity will come your way soon.

Best wishes,

Terri

I found that when I am stressed, I not only have worse reactions to cc, but also need to simplify my diet. Stress seems to require me to go back to my very simple diet that I had during the first couple of months after diagnosis. The treats that I had done alright with for a while (occasional chocolate, raw veggies, beautiful salads, and more), were suddenly causing problems again.

Give that a try and see if it helps.

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
