hi all,

Our 11 month old baby has recently been tested for celiac.he has some symptoms of the disease.we will find out hopefully by the end of this week.we have started to trial him on the gluten free baby foods and he seems to be alot happier.we are hoping to get this all sorted out before our holiday abroad on october 1st.his blood results for his liver function test were also high and his protein low,but bless he only has just doubled his birth weight.no one else in the family has heard of celiac up until now,so we are fairly new to the symptoms.if anyone can offer any websites, cookery books or just a brief chat on what your life is like with a baby with celiac id love to hear from you.

thankyou

tracey

2 books I would recommend for anyone new to the disease are:

Living Gluten Free for Dummies by Dana Korn(anyof her books are good, she specializes in kids)

Celiac Disease: A Hidden Epidemic by Dr. Peter Green

Have you looked into your local rock group...support group for kid with celiac?

The Lindt (Lindor) dairy-free oat milk truffles are definitely gluten-free, and (last time I checked) so are the white chocolate truffles and the mint chocolate truffles.

I've used magnesium taurinate and magnesium taurate vitamins.  Didn't notice much of a difference when I used them.

More great tips, and a good excuse to shop at M&S and also buy more iced buns!   I wish we had an ASDA near us, as the few times we've been to one their gluten-free pasta range seemed very reasonably priced compared to other shops.  Thanks so much, @Russ H.
