Tapioca Starch - Where To Buy

 I have been unable to locate any tapioca starch. Is this available in grocery stores and if so where would it be located? I have checked my local groceries - in the gluten free sections and other baking ingredients sections but have had no luck. Unfortunately I don't have any Whole Foods store conveniently located to me.

Have you checked a health food store? I have one near me that is called Discount Nutrition. In fact I get a lot of my flours there because they are cheaper.

I got mine at an asian import grocery store.

Where I live in NY State, we have Wegmans and Sauders where you can get tapico starch. We also have a GNC General nutrition Center, not sure what they have as I don't shop there and also a MOther Nature's store, same there, I dont shop there to know what they have. Good luck. Not sure if you can substitute something else for that or not. Sorry

At my grocery store, Cub Foods, the tapioca starch is in little packages in the Asian food section for .69/bag. They have the exact same bags at my natural food co-op for $3 something! :o An Asian store recently opened, but I haven't been there.

      Thanks for your assistance.

Get your total IGA checked to make sure your celiac antibody test scores are trustworthy.

I do eat 4 slices of wheat bread with almond butter. Yes it was a reference to my iron consumption.

To give you a frame of reference for pretesting gluten consumption necessary to ensure valid antibody testing, here is the current recommendation for those who have been on a gluten free diet: The daily consumption of at least 10g of gluten (about the amount in 4-6 slices of wheat bread) for at least two weeks. Not sure why you mentioned eggs and chicken. They are not sources of gluten. Was that in reference to dietary iron consumption?

Thanks for your insight. I've been eating wheat bread at least 5 times a week for several months. I've been eating chicken or eggs 5 days a week for at least a year.
