What are your favorite products. I am going to online shop on monday and buy lots of stuff, so i was hoping others could tell me what things that they buy that are safe from gluten, casein and soy. Also if you can tell me were you buy them. If i cant get lots of the stuff online i will be in denver in 2 weeks for my step-sons meeting with the gi, so i can go shop then also.

Hi Paula - are you looking for snack foods or meal stuff? I really like the things below:

Jennie's Macaroons (Whole Foods)

Oskri Coconut Bars (Amazon)

Lara Bars (Costco)

Rice Crackers (Edwards & Sons) (Amazon)

K-too's (Amazon)

If you have a Trader Joe's their rice noodle soup bowls are soy free (Thai Kitchens are not)

Can you tolerate Soy Lecithin? Dagoba Chocolate bars are yummy or if you can't tolerate soy lecithin the Enjoy Life Chocolate Chips can quench the craving

Pacific Brand Chicken (Costco in Bulk)/Beef Broths

Road End Organics Nacho Chreese and Mac & Chreese (the nacho chreese is actually really good!!) (Health food Store)

Cream of Buckwheat Cereal (Amazon - you can order in bulk)

GFP French Bread/Pizza Crust Mix (Amazon)

-Good luck hope this helps some

Paula,

I LOVE namaste spice cake mix with carrot cake option (add about 1 cup of shredded carrots and golden raisins) it is SO GOOD!

Also, Pamela's bite size ginger snap cookies.

I thought Ktoos had soy in them?? Am I wrong?

thanks for the suggestions, i have been wondering about the chreese. I knew for sure i wanted something like that and riceria yogurt and enjoy life choco chips, i loive to bake for the holidays and i know having those will make my life easier.

Yes i was looking for snack ideas, im getting tired of lara bars and rice cakes.

I will look into the the broths in bulk, i cant live without those broths, i always have one box of each in the fridge.

Im looking for a new milk, since i now know the almond milk has soy lechtin and it makes my tounge tingle.

I am doing pretty good at cooking all my meals with the restrictions, even tho i miss my onions and garlic, but im adapting slowly but surely.

I just miss my snacks, i use to love nachos and quesadillas.

Is there any cheese out there to make those, im not sure how chreese would work for like lasagna and quesadillas.

I will look for that cake, my dad makes the best carrot cake in the world and i miss it so much. I had to cut up 3 of htem last night for an school fundraiser and i was drooling, but if i can find anything kinda similiar i would be in heaven. what do u use for an frosting, or is one of those that dont need a frosting

Paula,

A good milk is hemp milk. I can't do soy, gluten, dairy or nuts, so it's great!

I hope this helps!

Kassandra

Edit: I just saw what you said. I don't use frosting because I have been too lazy to figure one out, but I read somewhere that you could just use powdered sugar with milk (hemp milk...?) and mix them together and then just drizzle it on top. I don't make it into a cake, I make them into muffins. They are SSOOO GOOD!! You won't be disappointed!

I will look into hemp milk, do most grocery stores carry it or do i need to look at a health food place, we only have king soopers and safeway here, and one very little health food store with mostly vitamins.

There is one type of Dagoba that doesn't contain soy lecithin. There are some other dark chocolate bars in the same category too.

For snacks (other than dark chocolate  ) I like popcorn, corn thins spread with hummus or a nut butter, or fruit. If I'm really hungry, I will nuke a potato & top it with refried beans and/or salsa. Then there is that old standby, fruit.

I've heard people say great things about Parma cheese substitute. Unfortunately, I can't have it because it is made from yeast, so I have no personal experience with it.

I use Living Harvest hemp milk. I find Hemp Bliss milk to be disgusting. They are very different! Just a word of caution ...

For bread (since I can't have egg or yeast, either, so I'm pretty limited), I like the mixes from Breads From Anna. I purchased a bunch from them directly, although I'm sure it is available elsewhere. She also has mixes for pumpkin and banana bread (yummy) and pie crust (haven't tried it yet).

It can be worthwhile to shop from Amazon if you can, because shipping is free if you order over a certain amount.

K-Too's have soy lecithin in them. I can tolerate soy lecithin, some people can't

As I understand it, soy lecithin and soy bean oil are okay because the protein that causes the reaction is removed during processing. I don't trust soybean oil but the soy lecithin i've challenged and am fine with.

If you'd like to stick with Almond milk "Pacific" makes a low fat almond milk that does not contain any soy lecithin. I use it to cook and on my cereal.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.

plant sources of calcium, such as spinach, have calcium bound to oxalates, which is not good. best source of calcium is unfortunately dairy, do you tolerate dairy? fermented dairy like kefir is good and or a little hard cheese. i do eat dairy, i can only take so much dietary restriction and gluten is hard enough! but i guess some people do have bad reactions to it, so different for everyone.

i take b12, folate, b2, b6, glycine, Nac, zinc, vk2 mk4, magnesium, coq10, pqq, tmg, creatine, omega 3, molybdnem (sp) and just started vit d. quite a list i know.  I have high homocysteine (last checked it was 19, but is always high and i finally decided to do something about it) and very low vitamin d, 10. have been opposed to this supp in the past, but going to try it at 5k units a day. having a pth test on friday, which is suspect will be high. my homocysteine has come down to around 9 with 3 weeks of these supplements and expect it to go down further. i also started on estrogen/progesterone. I have osteoporosis too, so that is why the hormones.  anyway, i think all celiacs should have homocysteine checked and treated if needed (easy enough with b vit, tmg). homocysteine very bad thing to be high for a whole host of reasons. all the bad ones, heart attack , stroke, alzi, cancer..... one of the most annoying things about celiacs (and there are so many!) is the weight gain. i guess i stayed thin all those years being undiagnosed because i was under absorbing everything including calories. going gluten-free and the weight gain has been terrible, 30#, but i'm sure a lot more went into that (hip replacement - and years of hip pain leading to inactivity when i was previously very active, probably all related to celiacs, menopause) yada yada. i seemed to lose appetite control, like there was low glp, or leptin or whatever all those hormones are that tell you that you are full and to stop eating. my appetite is immense and i'm never full. i guess decades or more ( i think i have had celiacs since at least my teens - was hospitalized for abdominal pain and diarrhea for which spastic colon was eventually diagnosed and had many episodes of diarrhea/abdominal pain through my 20's. but that symptom seemed to go away and i related it to dairy much more so than gluten. Also my growth was stunted, i'm the only shorty in my family. anyway, decades of malabsorption and maldigestion led to constant hunger, at least thats my theory. then when i started absorbing normally, wham!! FAT!!!

Great advise there I agree with the aniexty part, and the aura migraine has I suffer both, I've also read some great books that have helped I'm going too look the one you mentioned up too thankyou for that, I find a camomile tea just a small one and a gentle wind down before bed has helped me too, I suffer from restless leg syndrome and nerve pain hence I don't always sleep well at the best of times , racing mind catches up I have decorated my whole house in one night in my mind before 🤣 diet changes mindset really help , although I have to say it never just disappears, I find once I came to terms with who I am I managed a lot better  , a misconception is for many to change , that means to heal but that's not always the case , understanding and finding your coping mechanisms are vital tools , it's more productive to find that because there is no failure then no pressure to become something else , it's ok to be sad it's ok to not sleep , it's ok to worry , just try to see it has a journey not a task 🤗
