I found a couple of receipes that are gluten-free but they call for xanthan gum. I have idea what it si and where I can get it. Can you get it from a grocery store or do you have to go to a speacialty shop (the kind that you can buy cake pans and decorating materials)?

Most health foods carry it, I get it from vitamin cottage, but even my small helth food store carries it. It is expensive, but you can sometimes use guar guar gum in place of it. I keep both in stock in my house. It is in a small bag most of the time and it looks just like an flour or an starch.

Most health food stores carry xanthan gum or guar gum. I find it cheapest at GNC'S. Whole Foods carries it also.... plus you can buy ready mixed flour blends that have this already in the mix. There are several comapnies that have their own blend...... We use BetterbatterFlour Blend.

Hi--

Xanthan gum is necessary in gluten free baking to act as a kind of binder--without it, a lot of things like cakes, breads, and cookies would crumble and have a brick-like texture.

I use Gluten Free Pantry brand--I have found it at Whole Foods. Also widely available at healthfood stores and Whole Food/Wild Oats is Bob's Red Mill xanthan gum.

It is expensive, but since you only use a small amount, the package tends to last a long time :)

I found it at my local Kroger's... :)

They have a big section of gluten-free stuff.

I order mine from www.barryfarm.com. They are pretty cheap.

I buy it at Wegmans and it is about $10, but you don't use much. I have a small bag and it has lasted over a year. I keep it in an air tight container.

I've bought it at Wegmans and the Gluten Free Source in Dillsburg.

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
