Where Would I Post About....

I don't know if I have Celiac Disease, wheat allergy, gluten allergy, wheat or gluten "sensitivity" or what. The only diagnosis I have right now is Fibromyalgia and right now I'm not pursuing additional lab testing- if the diet works, who cares about the label? (And if it doesn't work, then the lab tests wouldn't have shown anything anyway, right?)

I have no problem posting to the recipe, shopping, or "other food allergy" forums, as I am most definitely cooking and shopping gluten-free, and I'm most definitely avoiding other foods in my diet as well.

But would I "belong" on the "celiac disease meeting room" or "celiac disease-coping with" forums? Should I post on the "pre diagnosis" board because I haven't been diagnosed with anything, or on the "post diagnosis-healing" board because I'm focused on healing right now, and not on diagnosis?

But where should I post "hey, wow, after 6 weeks of being gluten-free I had the lightest menstural period ever!!!" or questions about why I seem to have more short-term symptoms when I accidentally consume gluten even though I didn't have these symptoms when I ate gluten all the time?

If there was a forum for "other illnesses discussion" I would post there- but since there isn't one, I'm not quite sure where I should be posting my general concerns about gluten-free living.

If you post in the wrong place, on of the moderators will move your post to the right place. So just pick a forum which you think would best fit your post and if it isn't right, we can take care of it.

Good Luck :)

I vote for "Coping". Like the rest of us, you are coping with the diet to achieve better health. Lables here are not important either.

Weird. It's been moved to "pre diagnosis" so I guess that's where it goes?

Anyway, I just had the lightest menstrual cycle that I've had in years, after 6 weeks on the gluten-free diet!

I hope this becomes the new "normal" for me!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

BTW, we've done other articles on this topic that I wanted to share here (not to condone smoking!):

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

This is an older article, but may be helpful.

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
