I think it may have sugar in it...some of them do, but not sure if they have an unflavored one.

I haven't forgotten about posting the diet thing, but I'm looking at it and it's much longer than I remember, so I may wait until Monday so I can scan it at work. :P

Also, I think it was you that asked about the turkey sausage...the brand is Shelton. I finally found the patty style today, it's just turkey, sea salt and spices (but gluten free).

April, this is kind of off the candida topic, but seeing as you mentioned it on this thread...do you use the charcoal to help get rid of the metals that you've moved with the rest of your programme? When do you take the charcoal in relation to everything else?

The charcoal would be good for candida die off as it porduces many toxins. Be sure you take it about 2 hours away from any other meds or supplements. It will absorb those as well. I usually mix mine in with my fiber and take it before bed.

But if you are having issues mid-day you can take it then too.

Just FYI, over on in the low oxalate world, we don't take much Vit C because it is very high oxalate and can be further damaging to the gut in high doses. 250 mg/day is okay, but I think that Emergen-C stuff is 1,000 mg. I'd go easy on it. There are other anti-oxidants -- like E and A and Coenzyme Q10 that can be substituted.

Okay, well, I'm at about day ten on this candida diet and am now totally PLUGGED UP -- which is not my normal state. It feels awful when this happens -- like I'm just sitting here filling up with toxins. I've done two rounds of fiber, tons of water, very little food (there's no room for more!), lots of yoga, and nothing's moving. Ah well....

This is some good info but unfortunately one importnat aspect is not mentioned. That would be the link between mercury and candida.

I started out my journey seeing some Dr.'s who are very knowledgeable about every issue in these radio programs...they utilize the BioHealth services and most likely had some training from the Dr. interviewed in this program.

After 8 months they were unable to get to the root of my problem and I had not made any progress. I was referred to a Dr. who specializes in mercury detox. From that point on I have been with Dr.'s who have made the best decisions regarding my treatment...and I have come a long way. :)

omg i just did something so dumb. My husband bought some pistachos, and i knew you could eat some nuts and stuff. Well guess what pistachos are not for me. Im so sick now, im hot, my stomach hurts my nose is going nuts and im so tired now, and now i read cause they have too much mold on them, this is not a good day.

I listened to the thing Rachel posted also, and one thing I thought was interesting was the test d-arabanitol. I actually had that done because Dr. H ordered it for me, but I thought some people on here may be interested in having it done. He said it is a huge deal as far as diagnosing Candida.

Paula, here is the stuff my doctor gave me eons ago. Please note that this is geared more toward MOLD, not candida necessarily. I have a huge issue with mold (I'm highly allergic to it environmentally, and I have high levels of antibodies to it in my blood), so this was given to me for avoiding things I might cross-react to. Even with this list, my doctor strayed from what was on it MANY TIMES, especially in regards to the antibiotics--he was the allergist/ENT who prescribed basically three years of antibiotics for a never-ending sinus infection!

I do think I have something from him that was more geared towards Candida...I still have to locate THAT, lol. But this is good for determining what might cross-react (not everyone will).

I didn't have it done. Someone on Yeast Connection Forum had it done and really had good results knowing exactly what she was dealing with. I wish now that I had done something like that. I feel like I am grasping at straws sometimes.

I think Genova Diagnostics does those type tests as well. My ND would be able to order either.

I've been dealing with a fair amount of nausea in the last week -- it's been about two weeks on the candida diet now. It seems better when I eat, but it's like morning sickness (and no, I'm not pregnant!) in that the nausea only subsides literally while I'm eating.

You all having anything like this? Nausea is not normally a GI symptom I have. Is this a typical yeast die-off symptom, does anyone know?

Well i have felt the same way all day, i had thought cause i forgot to eat, well then i did eat and 30 minutes later i got nasuated, and i know im not pregnant lol.

I have been in bed since about 11 today, cause i dont feel good. Even tho i had a great few hours this morning.

Maybe someone will know if it is a die off symptom, ive only been on it for 6 days, but if this a die off and it has lasted u an week, im scared to continue feeling like this.

Sometimes the liver can cause nausea. But yeah, die off can be different for everyone. Nausea is very likely from die off and will pass.

I haven't felt nausea this time, but the first time I did the candida diet, I felt slightly nauseated.

I thought about my liver as well -- I've been taking milk thistle and red clover tea for liver tonic -- maybe it's under a load from processing toxins?

I'll go poke around on google and see what I can find out about yeast die-off symptoms. The nausea is a total drag, as you all know. It just affects everything all day long.

So does lemon water help the nasea or make it worse. I dont understand why we have to go threw a bad part to feel better, why cant we just feel better cause we change our diet lol.

Let me know what u find on google, or ifi get my puter to work right ill go look around to lol,

:lol: I agree Paula...it would be great if we could just feel good right away, lol. Unfortunately those stupid "bugs" create all kinds of toxins, both when they are alive and when they die, and that's what makes us feel worse before we get better. Stupid bugs! :angry:

Ok im herxing and i feel so bad. My body hurts, im so tired and its not good. I dont even have energy to get my kids ready for school, this is not good at all. I sitll have to get myself ready and 3 kids in the next 30 minutes and every time i try i find myself back here lol. Ughhh will someone go upstairs and get their clothes for me, im afraid they will pick out some funky ones lol.

I made it, i got the kids to school with 4 minutes to spare, I of course didnt get ready, just threw make up on and went in my pj's lol, boy did i get looks from some of the uppity parents lol, but hey i dont care im so proud of myself that i took them and they look nice at least lol.

Lemon water is good for the liver. Helps cleanse the liver and kidneys. Unless, of course, you have a citrus allergy!!

Definatley under a toxin load. Sweating, dry skin brushing, detox baths. All that kind of stuff might help. The milk thistle and tea sound like a good plan.

No im not doing anything but the epson baths, the candida diet and lemon water. Im still waiitng to hear from my nd about my results and what i should do and take.

I just took an epson bath and felt great for about 30 minutes now im tired and achy again, and i have to make lunch and pick up my dtr in 10 minutes, ughhh, maybe i did like when they were on break lol.

      Another annoying thing about trying to figure this Celiac life out is reading all of the labels and considering every choice. I shop at Aldi every week and have been for years. I was just officially diagnosed Celiac a couple weeks ago this October after my endoscopy. I've been encouraged by my local Aldi in that they have a lot of gluten free products and clearly labeled foods. I usually buy Milagro corn tortillas because they are cheap and are certified. However, I bought a package of Aldi's Pueblo Lindo Yellow Corn Tortillas without looking too closely (I was assuming they were fine... assuming never gets us anywhere good lol) it doesn't list any wheat products and doesn't say it was processed in a facility with wheat. It has a label that it's lactose free (hello, what?? When has dairy ever been in a tortilla?) Just, ugh. If they can add that label then why can't they just say something is gluten free or not? I did eat some of the tortillas and didn't notice any symptoms but I'm just not sure if it's safe. So I'll probably have to let my family eat them and stick with Milagro. There is way too much uncertainty with this but I guess you just have to stick with the clearly labeled products? I am still learning!

      Thank you all for sharing your experiences! And I am very thankful for that Thanksgiving article, Scott! I will look into it more as I plan my little dinner to bring with on the Holiday I'm also glad a lot of research has been done for Celiac. There's still a lot to learn and discover. And everyone has different symptoms. For me, I get a bad headache right away after eating gluten. Reoccurring migraines and visual disturbances were actually what got my PCP to order a Celiac Panel. I'm glad he did! I feel like when the inflammation hits my body it targets my head, gut, and lower back. I'm still figuring things out but that's what I've noticed after eating gluten! I have been eating gluten-free for almost two months now and haven't had such severe symptoms. I ate a couple accidents along the way but I'm doing a lot better

      @Mari, did you read that second article that Scott linked? It is the most recently date one. "Researchers comparing rates of headaches, including migraines, among celiac patients and a healthy control group showed that celiac subjects experienced higher rates of headaches than control subjects, with the greatest rates of migraines found in celiac women.  Additionally, celiacs had higher rates of migraine than control subjects, especially in women. In fact, four out of five women with celiac disease suffered from migraines, and without aura nearly three-quarters of the time."

      As far as I know and I have made severalonline searches, celiac disease disease has not been recognized as a cause of migraines or any eye problems. What I wrote must have been confusing.

      Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.
