Yep, I use lettuce leaves as the wrap and I usually put turkey or chicken with avocado slices, cucumber slices, shredded carrot, sometimes pepper strips.

Lunchmeat is really not a good thing. Besides being loaded with Nitrites it usually has some type of sugar in it. I have found nitrite free, gluten free, and dairy free meats, but I think it still might have some sugar.

I do believe I heard boars head was gluten free, but I didn't pay it any attention because its still filled with nitrites.

Glad you are feeling better!

I forgot to say that i am 2 days potato-free and i feel my body starting to herx. Which im not sure if that is good or bad lol i know its good to kill those little yeasties but i have so much to do in the next few days lol.

I have lunchmeat sometimes in a pinch, but most of the time I cook a bunch of meat up ahead of time, slice it into strips and freeze in single servings.

Whole Foods and Wild Oats has nitrate, gluten, and sugar free turkey and chicken. When I do get it I ask them to clean the slicer.

Paula,

Wow, good for you. If you did not know about die off reactions one would think that they were doing something wrong instead of right. It will take a while for your body to adjust. Almost like when you first went off of sugar and white flours etc. The body gets used to those things and one doesn't feel right when you take them away.

There may be a time when you can put that baked potato back into your diet and not suffer ill effects but when one is batttling fungus it feeds the culprit.

Keep trying different things.... like the avacado or even some like squash as a substitute. Both very low glycemic and lots of fiber to slow down any fungal involvment.

I just made my bean salad with some brown rice and lots of fresh veggies in there too. It lasts me a whole week and I have it for one meal a day. Sometimes hot and sometimes cold depending on the weather. Some might think that this is boring but it is not if you know what you have to do in order to be well. One gets to the point when you eat to live and not live to eat.

I read a few pages back and saw that some are interested in making something like ice cream. Sorry that I do not get here but maybe once a day due to my slow dial up....

Here is an easy recipe:

Almost like ICE CREAM

1 3/4 c. frozen blueberries or chopped up frozen strawberries

1/8 t. stevia

1/2 c. whipping cream or coconut milk or cashew cream

eat immediately

Yeah, my WF has a brand of sliced turkey that only has turkey in it. I do buy that to have on hand for snacks.

This is very similar to what I make, lol. I use frozen peaches, and I blend it in my magic bullet. I also have a small one-serving Deni ice cream "maker", I'll use coconut milk with some stevia and some nuts. That tastes pretty close to ice cream, lol.

Great! Now if we just had some warm weather to go with it! I make this often in the summer after dinner. But when it is below zero it's hard to fathom. lol I like the idea of some nuts.... like chopped pecans....great!

Paula, I get way too fatigued without some starches. Try adding brown rice or the rice pasta other suggested before in place of the potato. Just small amounts though.

Donna, I thought that was the whole point of the Magic Bullet, powerful and indestructible??

julie,

I think i will need to eat more brown rice, i had it one night and it wasnt that bad. I guess i can just make a big batch and have it ready when i need it. I am going to go buy some pasta tommorow when i go pick up my charcoal.

I know fresh is best, but the only way I am able to pull a lot of these meals off is by cooking ahead and freezing.

I do this with rice too, I make a big batch of rice up and freeze in 1/2 cup portions.

I much prefer eating rice freshly cooked out of the rice cooker, it's all fluffy, and warm, and yummy, but this way it's fast and easy to pull out a portion and resteam.

I make this cauliflower soup some of you might like to try:

1 large head of cauliflower, washed and trimmed, chopped in small florets

1 tbsp coconut oil

2 tbsp dill weed, dried

1 onion, chopped

water to cover

melt coconut oil in large stock pot or dutch oven

stir in dill

add onion and saute until soft and translucent

add cauliflower and water to cover

simmmer until cauliflower is tender (about 20-30 minutes or so)

puree with hand held mixer (or put in blender, but be careful it's hot!)

If puree is thicker than desired, return to pot and add more water, simmer for 5-10 minutes

Season to taste, with sea salt (opt)

I LOVE this soup, I have it everyday :)

Paula,

4 BEAN SALAD

4 cans beans (mix types) drain well put in crock on low fill up with water and cook over night on low drain water and refill again cook 6 hrs. on low drain water off and now the beans are gas free and ready for the salad. Blend dressing/marinade in blender except for the raw stuff. (Sometimes I use the pinto beans mixed with hot peppers.)

Blender:

2/3 c. grape seed oil (or olive oil)

1/3 c. lemon juice or ACV

Apparently not in MY hands, lol. I've broken 3 of them now (or is it 4).

I make this cauliflower soup some of you might like to try:

Yummmm....that sounds sooooo good!!!! I must try it before the cold weather goes away. I actually might REALLY like this for breakfast!!!! And, it could be portable!

 Well hopefully the 4rth (or 5th) Magic Bullet is the charm!

That is exaclty what I do, I eat the cauliflower soup for breakfast alongside scrambled eggs.

Oh, and it's got healthy coconut oil in it, beneficial for its antifungal properties, and the cruciferous cauliflower. It's good for you all the way around!

I'm also trying to up the veggies big time so this is a good addition to my menu.

I think the soup would also be good with a little coconut milk in it... yum!! I want some now! I think even I might be able to make this!

That's a thought.

It really is surprisingly creamy, cauliflower puree makes an excellent "cream" like base to soups.

And yes it's so easy, even YOU can do it

Thanks Julie,

It is a lot of work putting it together but once it is done, it keeps for a week in the frig. if you make it with ACV. If you use the lemon juice (which some prefer), it will start to ferment in 4 days. The beans get a bite to them and then you start to feel drunk. NOt Good for me!

moldlady :)

I have other anti fungal recipes if anyone is interested. I have plant based only, dairy, no dairy, etc. Gluten , no gluten, etc. Just be specific on what your requirements are and I"ll check my list. :)

He is not just a psychiatrist.  He is also a neuroscientist.  And yes, I have already read those studies.   I agree with benfotiamine.  This is short term while glutened/inflammation occurs.  As I had already mentioned, these symptoms no longer exist when this phase passes.  And yes, I know that celiac is a disease of malnutrition.  We are working with a naturopath.

Please do more research before you settle on nicotine. Dr. Paul New house is a psychiatrist.  His latest study involves the effect of nicotine patches on Late Life Depression which has reached no long term conclusions about the benefits.   Effects of open-label transdermal nicotine antidepressant augmentation on affective symptoms and executive function in late-life depression https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/39009312/   I'm approaching the subject from the Microbiologist's point of view which shows nicotine blocks Thiamine B1 uptake and usage:   Chronic Nicotine Exposure In Vivo and In Vitro Inhibits Vitamin B1 (Thiamin) Uptake by Pancreatic Acinar Cells https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/26633299/   While supplementation with thiamine in the form Benfotiamine can protect from damage done by  nicotine: Benfotiamine attenuates nicotine and uric acid-induced vascular endothelial dysfunction in the rat https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/18951979/   I suggest you study the beneficial effects of Thiamine (Benfotiamine and TTFD) on the body and mental health done by Dr. Derrick Lonsdale and Dr. Chandler Marrs.  Dr. Lonsdale had studied thiamine over fifty years.   Hiding in Plain Sight: Modern Thiamine Deficiency https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC8533683/ I suggest you read their book Thiamine Deficiency Disease, Dysautonomia, and High Calorie Malnutrition.     Celiac Disease is a disease of malabsorption causing malnutrition.  Thiamine and benfotiamine: Focus on their therapeutic potential https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC10682628/

Thanks for your response.  Everything you mentioned he is and has been doing.  Tobacco is not the same as nicotine.  Nicotine, in the form of a patch, does not cause gastrointestinal irritation.  Smoking does. He is not smoking.  Please do your research before stating false information. Dr. Paul Newhouse has been doing research on nicotine the last 40 years at Vanderbilt University Medical Center.

Im so frustrated and still getting the run around trying to reprove my celiac disease which my past primary ignored for 25 years.I understand that theres a ray of medical that doctors are limited too but not listening and telling the patient ( me) that im not as sensitive as I think and NOT celiac!Correction Mr white coat its not what I think but for cause and affect and past test that are not sticking in my medical records.I get sick violently with foods consumed, not eating the foods will show Im fabulous. After many blood draws and going through doctors I have the HLA- DQ2 positive which I read in a study that Iran conducted that the severity in celiac is in that gene.Im glutenfree and dealing with related issues which core issue of celiac isn't addressed. My skin, right eye, left leg diagestive issues affected. I have high blood pressure because im in pain.Im waisting my time on trying to reprove that Im celiac which is not a disease I want, but unfortunately have. It  has taken over my life personally and professionally. How do I stop getting medically gaslight and get the help needed to bounce back if I ever do bounce back to normal? I thought I was in good care with " celiac specialist " but in her eyes Im good.Im NOT.Sibo positive, IBS, Chronic Fatigue just to name a few and its all related to what I like to call a ghost disease ( celiac) since doctors don't seem to take it seriously.
    • trents
@Martha Mitchell, your reaction to the lens implant with gluten sounds like it could be an allergic reaction rather than a celiac reaction. It is possible for a celiac to be also allergic to gluten as it is a protein component in wheat, barley and rye.
