I Just Need Some Good Folks With celiac disease To Talk To.

This past 6 months have been rough. I've had Celiac for 3 years now and I thought I was a veteran. Guess not. I had gotten into a rough patch and got very sick and missed over two weeks of school.

My GI ran blood work. Everything came back negative but my blood levels were twice as high from last year; going from my all time best to my all time worse.

I believe that I've taken care of hidden gluten source but it takes me quite a while to get over the sickness, I react severly.

Sometimes I feel alone. Its so hard at times because I work, I'm trying to keep up with all of my AP classes and I'm so physically exhausted.

And this stupid stomach of mine. I cannot get rid of my extended stomach! My right side pushes out way rather than the left and it just crashes my self-esteem. My stomach is so out of proportion to the rest of my body. If I could just fix my stomach I would feel overweight, even though I know I'm not.

:(

hello.....

wow.....so much frustration....I guess you 've had some really bad times.......

I don't know how to make you feel better....I could start talking about how lucky we are because our celiac thing is so much easier than other health issues.....but then I think you already know that....and your stomach is making you sad....do you work out?

any way I am so sorry you feel that way but I am very happy you are on this forum and you talk about what you are feeling.

can I do anything for you???

Hi there Meline---

I try not to be so negative, I just have my bad days. I think its just I take more on than what I should lol

I do work out and I have notice that it does help my stomach, but not much on extended part. I'm trying to be persistent with it. I try to go at 3-4 times a week to the gym.

Just talking to me would be great. I apperciate the concern =]

well ashley I guess we have all been there....bad days, negative feelings......there was a time when I kept crying everyday cause I had really bad acne that just wouldn't go away.My face was so so so ugly....So I know how it feels when you are making an effort to fix something and that something just seems to deny getting fixed!!!!!!!!!

any way, good for you. you are working out, that is great. Do you run (as a part of your woking out)? cause runing really helps your belly go away. do you eat 5-6 small meals per day ? maybe drink more water? maybe you already know that stuff...maybe add some swimming now that summer is here? just some ideas..

I am going to sleep now (it is 5:36 after midnight in Greece). In a few hours I am leaving for an island trip with my friends, so I will not be able to talk to you untill next week. But I would really like to hear from you when you start feeling better.

good night! keep smiling!!!

Hi Ashley. I'm certainly no expert, but I want to help. If you are still having extreme bloating, and it's not a weight issue....maybe it's time to take a good, close look at everything you are eating and being exposed to. Is there a chance that you are getting some trace amount to gluten somewhere? For me it was the Calcium tabs I was taking everyday! I regularly re-check everything....ok, I admit that I've become a little paranoid about food. I truly, truly do not want to have to be held captive by these health issues ever again. I hate to hear that after all of this time that you are still struggling. There must be SOMETHING.

Good luck anyway....hope you are feeling better soon!

When I started taking magnesium, I noticed some reduction in the bloated belly. But it was still noticeable, until I reduced proteins in my diet. That one thing seems to have helped quite a lot. Now I'm slowly increasing protein intake, and it seems to be far better than it was.

I might look into this, since my stomach is huge and I have been gluten free for years....excerise does not help either!

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
