Food Should Taste Good chips

I've seen these chips at Costco but didn't buy them because of the oat fiber, but here's the statement from the company:

Are any of your products gluten-free?

Yes! All of our chips have been tested and certified gluten-free, and all are processed on machinery that that does not process any items with gluten. (If you are concerned about the oat fiber in the multigrain chips, don't be! The fiber is extracted from the oats, and does not contain any gluten.)

Has anyone tried them with no issue? I will call the company and see what they say.-but, I'm not sure how to word my question... any suggestions?

I won't touch the ones they make with oat but I have had the Olive and the Chocolate and really liked both of them. I am very sensitive and did not react to either of those. The chocolate is great for spreading with cream cheese.

Anyone else? We bought them, but so far only DH and I (we don't have celiac) have tried them. We haven't given them to our daughter, but I'm curious if anyone else tried them. They are fairly healthy for a chip because they have quinoa and flax seeds. The Celiac Sprue Association website lists oat fiber as not being consistent with a gluten-free diet, so I'm baffled by the company's statement that they're certified gluten free. Does that mean they have been tested to be gluten-free, or does that means that they believe the ingredients are gluten-free? Thank you

Perhaps they are using certified gluten-free oats to extract the fiber from? Just throwing it out there as a possibility... :huh:

Thats a good point....but I hope if that was the case they would list it as such.

      Maybe you have a low  intolerance to Wheat.   Rye, Barley and Malt are the gluten in Celiac disease.  It has always been stated Wheat and Gluten, not just a Wheat intolerance.  Barley will keep me in bed for (2) weeks.  Gut, Migrains, Brain fog, Diahrea.  It is miserable.  And when I was a toddler the doctor would give me a malt medicine because I always had Anemia and did not grow.  Boy was he off.  But at that time the US didn't know anyone about Celiac.  This was the 1940s and 50s.  I had my first episode at 9 months and did not get a diagnosis until I was 50.  My immune system was so shot before being diagnoised, so now I live with the consequences of it. I was so upset when Manufacturers didn't want to label their products so they added barley to the product.  It was mostly the cereal industry.  3 of my favorite cereals were excluded because of this. Malt gives me a bad Gut reaction.

      It is odd that your Tissue Transglutaminase (TTG) IgA level has bounced from the "inconclusive" range (7.9, 9.8) down to a negative level (5.3), only to climb back up near the positive threshold. Your experience in Italy and Greece, contrasted with your reactions in the U.S., provides powerful anecdotal evidence that the problem, for some people, may not be the wheat, but the additives like potassium bromate and the industrial processing it undergoes here.
