Hey im new here in this forum didnt knew where to post this topic

im self-diagnosed sinds i always have stumage hurts and gas after eating cereals(i eat cereals every morning)

i also have a consentration problem i think its because the gluten thats mostly the reason why i whant on a gluten free diet

i have asperger syndrome to ive browsing this forum and seen that you gain weight of the diet is this true or something?

anyway could use any help possible im not from america/england eather

(and no asperger syndrome doesnt make you dumber thats a fairytale <_< )

edit:i forgot to say: im 15 almost 16 years old

Hello and welcome.

You sure are right about Asperger's not making you dumb. :D Most are smarter than most of the people around them.

You are very smart to have done enough research to know that gluten is possibly a cause for the problems you have with concentration and your stomach pain and gas. The concentration issue we usally call 'brain fog' and it describes it very well.

As far as the weight issue goes, for some of us we gain weight when we are sick. For those usually the extra can be more easily dropped after they are gluten free. For others we tend to be thin, some very. Once your body is getting the nutrients it needs it will be able to gain if that is what is needed. Many of us also who get celiac when young have our growth effected. You may gain a lot in height quicker than you ever have. That will make you seem really thin if you are on the small side or could even out your weight if you are heavy. It is going to take some time to get your body in balance. Be patient and make sure you are getting enough good foods, veggies, fruits, meats, rice, potatoes and go easy on the special gluten free stuff at first.

Hopefully your family is supporting you in this. You have found a great place for support and info and there is also a thread for teens so do check it out. Ask any question you need to and if you get a bit angry and sad at first that is normal and you can post about that also.

I have met many teens with Asperger's.......never met a dumb one :P In fact they are usually very talented!

what i wonder is that gluten seems to be in much but not in cola?(atleast its not listed on the ingredients)els im drinking something terribly wrong

I would suggest going with clear soda's, water and for sure gluten-free juices. If you are early on in the diet your system may just not like the ingredients in the soda itself. It is rather caustic. I do tend to have issues with caramel coloring, they seem gluten related but many will say they are gluten-free even if the caramel is derived from barley or another gluten grain. Caramel coloring is often made from a heated starch and you simply may not tolerate it. Do you get the same ill feelings from clear soda's? You might want to drop the cola's for a bit and then when you are feeling good do a challenge. Drink it at least 3 times a day for a week when not consuming anything else risky and watch for any ill effects. This can be done with any food item we question.

      BFree bread is fortified with vitamins and minerals as is ASDA own-brand gluten-free bread. All the M&S bread seems to be fortified also.

      You might try Heallix.  It's a silver solution with fulvic acid. I just put the solution on with a cotton ball.  It seemed to stop the nerve pain. Again,  not in your eyes or ears.   Go to heallix.com to read more about it and decide for yourself Also,  I do think nerve and celiac combined have a lot to do with your susceptibility to shingles breaking out.

      Celiac disease requires both genetic potential and a triggering stress event to activate the genes. Otherwise it remains dormant and only a potential problem. So having the genetic potential is not deterministic for celiac disease. Many more people have the genes than actually develop the disease. But if you don't have the genes, the symptoms are likely being caused by something else.

      Yes, i pulled raw ancetry data and saw i have 2/3 markers for DQ2.2 but have heard from friends in genetics that this raw data can be wildly innacurate
