The jury is not out anymore....it is a "hung" jury. Some say it is good for you and some say it is the devil. I use it only now and again. I mostly use Cold pressed unrefined extra virgin olive oil (for salads and for adding to foods after cooking like soups) or coconut oil (great for high heat cooking). Butter can also be used or cooking.

I have experimented with sesame oil, grapeseed oil, avacado oil, etc. I also like Macadamia nut oil for cooking on medium heat.

I make sure to eat nuts and seeds as well as flax oil and fish/fish oil daily for a balance of oils.

Where did you read it? There's at least one old piece that has outrageous untrue stuff. I'm not saying there aren't negatives, but there's also some pretty wild things out there.

I use several kinds. Coconut oil like all that Shay said, olive oil and light olive oil, grapeseed oil, and Smart Balance- canola/soy/olive oil and if I could afford it I would use the different nut oils. It all depends on what I cook and how much I need. Sometimes I use some of each. Coconut oil for popcorn for sure...gotta have that. Bean salad- I use part olive and part either grapeseed or Smart Balance. For bread and brushing the top- light olive oil. If I need, say 1/2 cup in a cake, I usually just use Smart Balance. I am not crazy about the taste of olive oil but its healthiest when you don't heat it up so its good to use it for dressings like the bean salad. Oh and I use peanut oil or the coconut for stir fry. One tip I learned years ago is sometimes when you fry foods you can just use water like if you want to fry chicken strips for a stir fry just add water as needed and watch it close so it doesn't stick and -no oil.

From what I understand, canola is very high in omega-6 fatty acids. This is part of what is contributing to the imbalance in a lot of people's diets. Your omega 6 to omega 3 ratio should be 1:1. Most people's is WAY out of proportion, with omega 6 FAR outnumbering their omega 3's. This is why I don't use it. I cook in butter or olive oil, that's it. I can't afford coconut!

Thank you ,it’s been a long road for me for having both now ,what upsets the most is that if they discovered that I also have cealiac earlier I would not have injested gluten if I was aware. Double whammy.

Some interesting articles regarding the use of Zinc Carnosine to help heal gastric ulcers, gastritis and intestinal permeability. I would consult a medical professional about it's use. https://www.nature.com/articles/ncpgasthep0778 https://www.rupahealth.com/post/clinical-applications-of-zinc-carnosine---evidence-review https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC7146259/ https://www.fallbrookmedicalcenter.com/zinc-l-carnosine-benefits-dosage-and-safety/

He is. Which makes everything even more difficult. I’m not a believer in “staying for the kids” but I have nowhere to go and it’s not just me, it’s me plus my babies. We live in a beautiful place, lots of land in the country and me and the kids love the place we’ve called home for their entire lives. But Im seeing that he’ll never change, that my kids deserve a happy healthy Momma, and that staying in this as is will be the early death of me. Then I look at the scars covering my entire body…this disease and the chronic stress I’ve been enduring for years that tell me I’m no longer beautiful and no one will ever look at me with interest again. I try self care, try to give myself grace so I can just start loving myself enough to gain strength but the slightest sparkle in my eye and skip in my step attracts his wrath and it all comes crashing ten fold. Life is just absolutely railing me from every single direction leaving me wanting to wave that white flag bc I don’t feel like there’s much hope no matter what happens.
