Gluten Free Frozen Pie Crust

Is there such a thing as a gluten free frozen pie crust? What major supermarkets might have them. I live in Virginia.

Last year I found some frozen pie crusts at Whole Foods. Loved the convience hated the taste :( This year I have made my own using a mix (cannot remember which company).

Ditto- Whole Foods gluten-free Bakehouse stuff is usually aweseome, avoid the hamburger buns and the pie crust, just bleh. The cheddar biscuits, however, are the BOMB.

Gee, I think all gluten-free frozen pie crusts taste like cardboard tried every one I could find even some bakery shoppe ones! But the only one frozen that any us could eat was whiole foods. Again not wonderful & I'm sure full of lard. We usually don't even use a crust anymore. And we never ate all the crust on a pie before our gluten-free days.

But Betty Hageman has a recipe called Doona Jo's pie crust , I will say it is one of the best I've made & easy as well..

I bought gluten free frozen pie crusts at the local natural food store. I sprinkled sugar across the bottom before putting in the filling and didn't taste too bad. Didn't care for the frozen burger and hot dog rolls though. Last year I made pie crust from a mix and it took forever. If I have time I would use it again. Good luck to whatever you find and use.

I realize this is after-the-fact, but I made a pumpkin pie using Whole Foods Bakehouse frozen pie crust (it comes in a package of two) and it turned out AWESOME!! If it wasn't for the fact I was eating the pie, my family wouldn't have believed it was gluten-free!

Whole Foods also had a recipe for pie crust that was really good - flakey and actually had a taste to it - but I'm not sure if it's still on their website. When I have a chance, I'll post it on the Forum.

      Hi Colleen H,   I suffered with the pins and needles/burning feeling in my legs and feet for at least  6 years until my Nephrologist figured out that I had to go on a low salt diet.  He said my kidneys weren't strong enough to remove the salt.  The simple fix was a diuretic, but that med leaves the uric acid behind, so that wasn't an option.  On the bright side the low salt diet lowered my BP over 20 points and and the pins and needles/burning feeling went away.  Good Luck and hope this helps.

      Yes this is very frustrating for me ... not sure what to think.  Feels like I'm having reactions to a lot of things  Now applesauce?? I don't understand 😞

      I did ... But aren't we going to be vitamin deficienct if we are not eating due to being sick ?? If the food we eat is gluten free and we have other sensitivities , how do we get out of the cycle??  Thank you

      Anyone else get pins and needles. ??? Burning feeling ? Heat makes it so much worse 😔  Winter is here.  I had to lower my thermostat because I couldn't take that hot air feeling 😔  Hopefully it goes away soon

      I assume that you already know that genetic testing for celiac disease cannot be used to confirm a celiac diagnosis. About 40% of the general population has the genetic potential to develop celiac disease but only about 1% actually develop celiac disease. It can be used to rule out celiac disease with a high degree of confidence, however, in the case where the genetic testing is negative for the genes. Until and unless you are actually diagnosed with celiac disease I would not raise this as an issue with family. However, if you are diagnosed with celiac disease through blood antibody testing and/or endoscopy with positive biopsy I would suggest you encourage first degree relatives to also purse testing because there is a significant chance (somewhere betwee 10% and almost 50%, depending on which studies you reference) that they will also have or will develop active celiac disease. Often, there are symptoms are absent or very minor until damage to the small bowel lining or other body systems becomes significant so be prepared that they may blow you off. We call this "silent celiac disease".
