Accidentally Ate Ton's Of Gluten

Hello,

While traveling in India I accidentally had two meals that were almost exclusively wheat. This was 4 months ago. I seemed all right at the time but since two months ago I have been extremely constipated and my guts have been full of gas. I altered my diet to 2/3rds raw foods at the same time the symptoms showed up, but I am wondering if the constipation/gas could have something to do with my gluten mistake.

I'd say it has to do with that and the raw diet change. Veggies can be harsh!

I second Turtle. I made the mistake once (when I had an unknown candida overgrowth and was trying to eat healthy) of eating rabbit food (carrots, celery, etc.) and magnified the problem 1000 times.

Raw diet is almost certainly causing your problems, not gluten that you ate 4 months ago.

It would make sense to me that if you caused damage and inflammation by eating gluten that you may not be able to digest the raw veggies for awhile. But four months? Maybe you are reacting to one of the vegetables you are eating. A lot of people on here are allergic to carrots and celery like I am.

Raw veggies are really hard on me. Steamed veggies calm my stomach. Try them that way. I hope you feel better

      Around 9% of celiacs cannot tolerate any oats, even gluten-free oats. It might be worth eliminating them for a few months, then get re-tested.

      I only eat certifed gluten-free products but a lot of which are processed. Could there be trace gluten in those or is that very unlikely?

      For people with celiac disease hidden gluten in their diets is the main cause of elevated Tissue Transglutaminase IgA Antibodies (tTG-IgA), but there are other conditions, including cow's milk/casein intolerance, that can also cause this, and here is an article about the other possible causes (you may want to avoid oats):

      Hello,  I have seen numerous doctors and they can't seem to pin point why my ttg iga is still mildly elevated at 16-20 even after being gluten free for over 10 years. I follow a very strict diet and don't eat out. All my other blood tests such as ema, DGP IGA / IGG, vitamin levels, CBC, and dexa scan were normal.
