I Glutened Myself Accidentally...

Well, I honestly didn't think I was *this* sensitive. I used my old bread machine (after carefully cleaning it out as best I could!) to make a loaf of gluten-free bread 2 days ago... I had a sandwich with said bread last night for dinner. By bedtime, I was having stomach pain and awful gas. Awful and painful gas! Today, I feel like I got run over by a truck. I'm exhausted, my head is slightly achy, and my muscles are achy and just feel like junk. Oh, and the dark circles under my eyes are back too.

So, how long can I expect this to last??

I was just starting to feel really, really, good. I went out today and bought a brand new bread pan, new spatulas, new wooden spoons, etc... I don't want to go through this again!

Hopefully it will be over soon. For some of us it takes a while but for others symptoms resolve quickly. I'm sorry this happened to you and hope you feel better soon.

Hi-

To ease gluten poisoning symptoms I try to keep gluten ease tablets on hand. There is also digest ease tablets. They are only found at Whole Foods in the supplement department. I take 2 of each every few hours until the pain stops.

I'm not sure what is in them , and they are spendy, but very worth having around.

Good luck.

Thanks, but the nearest Whole Foods is 2 hours away! Thankfully though, I'm feeling MUCH better today. Good to know that it only takes a good 24 hours to start feeling human again, lol ;). Tummy still isn't all the way back, but hey, can't expect too much! :D

Seems like when I find a gluten free product I like, the producer stops manufacturing it and then I have trouble finding a new gluten free source for it.  What's worse, I've been contacting companies to ask if their products are gluten free and they don't even bother to respond.  So, it's making it very hard to find safe replacements.  I was buying teff flour at nuts.com and they no longer carry it.  I noticed Naturevibe has teff and soy flour.  However, I can't get a response as to whether their flours are safe for someone with celiac.  Can't get a response from Aldi if their peas are safe for someone with celiac either.  I know Bob's Red Mill has teff flour but was hoping to get a large quantity.  I've been using up the 20 ounce Bob's Red Mill teff flour too quickly.  Does anyone know of a good source for teff or soy flour?  Any recommendations where to get gluten free beans, peas or lentils?  I found some packages of gluten free beans at Sprouts but not much variety.  I've also been looking for lentil elbow macaroni and it seems like no one is making that now that Tolerant was bought out.  Any suggestions for safe sources for these types of ingredients.  Thanks.

From their website I see "organic barley leaf powder" as an ingredient. Keep in mind that the gluten is in the kernel, and not in the leaves. https://drinkag1.com/about-ag1/ingredients/ctr

Before the rise of social media we were well known by a lot of doctors and were recommended by many, especially our Safe & Forbidden Lists, but as doctors get younger and younger this is probably not happening as much as before.

Thanks Scott I will definitely check my vitamins and minerals to see what I am missing so then I can supplement. I was very concern about my Meniers syntoms and i tryed to find some alive. Now im just realizing that my celiac is provably the root cause of my Meniers none of the 12 doctors I saw told me anything about this.  This web site is so helpful, thanks to people like you we can get answers.
