Gall Bladder

Hello -

I was diagnosed with celiac in July '02 at Mayo's. At that time the hydascan showed an ejection fraction ratio of 31%. The Dr. said try to gluten-free diet and see how the symptons change....everything got better up until about 2 months ago. A recent hydascan showed an ejection fraction ratio of 16%. Also the sonogram showed no stones in the gall ballder.

Can the gall bladder really cause this much pain with no stones present?

Has anyone else had nausea, pain the right side with no stones after being on a gluten-free diet? Did you have your gallbladder out and did it help?

Mt family Dr is only giving me one option...take the gall bladder out. I'd really appreciate your input.

Regards,

Matt in TN.

You betcha it can! My gallbladder was "functioning stone-cold normal, with no stones" last year. I was sick, sick, sick, though, and all of the symptoms were the same as my mom and sister when their gallbladders went bad. I had the doc remove it, and I got so much better! Turned out it was scarred from being inflamed, and disease was causing the inflammation to come and go. I have to use digestive enzymes when I eat now, but being without that pain and nausea was worth the surgery for me!

I just had a CT scan in Feb. before I was tested for Celiac's and I have gall stones but no pain. I do however have nausea.

I take a supplement for this when I get pain on my right side. It's called Stone Free and has things like turmeric, licorice, ginger, marshmallow, and some other things in it. It really helps. Also taking 1 tbsp of epsom salts disolved in warm water when you are having pain really helps - it helps to relax the bile ducts and that helps to release the pressure and pain.

Stone Free is made by Planetary Formulas: Open Original Shared Link

Here's where I first read about it: Open Original Shared Link

I have done her flush as she lists it on this page 4 times. It is not comfortable for me though so I prefer to use herbs and supplements and good food now. Many people have saved their gallbladders from doing flushes like this, though, which have been around for centuries.

One interesting thing about Stone Free is that 6 weeks after I started taking it daily (I took 6 pills a day, two at a time spread out) my cholesterol dropped from 240 total to 200. My doctor was amazed. It was the third time I'd been tested in a year, first time was 240 and I tried to do all these things, up my fiber, eat healthier, etc, but 6 months later it was still 240. Then two months later I started Stone Free as it's supposed to help clean your liver as it stimulates bile and 6 weeks later I did my test and had gone down 40 points. Cholesterol is made and stored in your liver so it makes sense that cleaning your liver would help lower it in your body.

Anyway, I don't take it all the time but every so often I will take it for a month now, or if I have a sore right shoulder blade (hmmm, come to think of it I don't believe I have had that since going gluten free... weird!) and it will clear that pain right up.

Take care

Stephanie

PS totally no financial interest. Not a fanatic, either, just found this to really help me out.

If a Celiac person is successful in following a gluten-free diet, they can go into remission.   They may not have a reaction to gluten without a precipitating event like an injury or infection or even emotional or mental stress.   Following a strict gluten-free diet at home, then indulging in gluten containing products abroad without a reaction can be explained by this remission.

Approximately 10x more people have non-celiac gluten sensitivity than have celiac disease, but there isn’t yet a test for NCGS. If your symptoms go away on a gluten-free diet it would likely signal NCGS.
