Pizza Restaurants

Is is smart to go to a restaurant that makes mostly pizza dishes? A group wants to go to Old Chicago Pizza tonight and I would order the Grande Nachos which are gluten free but if they make their own pizza doe daily, wouldn't there be flour in the air? I heard that some get sick from just walking through a bakery at the grocery store.

Given that they make pizza dough daily, there will probably be flour in the air. However, that doesn't mean you shouldn't go. If you know the nachos are gluten-free and you are not super sensitive, you should be fine.

Most restaurants and many people's kitchens have flour in them so there is really nowhere that is 100% gluten-free. I have had gluten-free pizza at Uno's and other pizza places that make regular pizza too and have not gotten sick.

I used to be REALLY sensitive); if you get sick very easily, you may want to suggest someplace safer. If you feel comfortable and the nachos are gluten-free, then go!

      Welcome to the forum, @yellowstone! The most common ones seem to be dairy (casein), oats, eggs, soy and corn. "Formed" meat products (because of the "meat glue" used to hold their shape) is a problem for some. But it can be almost anything on an individual basis as your sensitivity to rice proves, since rice is uncommonly a "cross reactor" for celiacs. Some celiacs seem to not do well with any cereal grains.

      What foods can trigger a response in people with gluten sensitivity? I've read that there are foods that, although they don't contain gluten, can cause problems for people with gluten sensitivity because they contain proteins similar to gluten that trigger a response in the body. I've seen that other cereals are included: corn, rice... also chicken, casein. I would like to know what other foods can cause this reaction, and if you have more information on the subject, I would like to know about it. Right now, I react very badly to rice and corn. Thank you.

      Shingles is dormant and related to chicken pox when one has had in the past.Shingles comes out when stress is heightened.I had my 3rd Shingles in 2023.
