Can Gluten Be Washed Out Of Towels?

I wash a load of bathroom and kitchen towels almost every day. I do not live in a gluten free house, so I'm wondering if I am getting cc from them. Is that a problem for others?

I am always washing my hands before I touch food but my towels might be making me sick.

I would doubt that towels are making you sick...I will step out on a limb here-------= I would never wash kitchen dish towels with bathroom washcloths.... For me that just seems gross washing dishtowels & dish cloths with other bathroom towels & cloths we wash our butts with!

I wash my kitchen things separately with color safe bleach & very hot water. I do the same for my bath things.....Yes, I know you didn't state that you do that....

I've been gluten-free for years & share a gluten-free/gluten house & have never heard of anyone having a problem with their towels. I think you are safe...

I've been gluten-free for almost 5 years (and am rather sensitive still) and towels are not something that I worry about. My husband has a few gluten containing foods in the house--prepared stuff like cereal, cookies, and crackers. If he's just had something like that and washes his hands, he just throws the towel he used in the wash. I don't believe that's ever caused any problems. I agree with mamaw--you're ok :D

Like yourself, I wash all my towels together and don't worry too much about separating bathroom stuff from kitchen stuff. They are being washed, after all, and a good washing with soap will clean everything just fine. You cannot get sick from a towel unless someone wipes their gluteny mouth all over one and then you put that into your mouth......which is a much grosser thought than washing towels all together! ;)

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
