Okay pretend your a Open Original Shared Link and you eat some <insert random gluten source here> at NOON, when would you expect your tummy to start having trouble? 2pm? 4pm? 10pm? I am just trying to get a ballpark, I realize everyone is different....

Thanks!

Will it usally hold to a partern for a given person?

I usually can see a pattern...I will get feeling just a little off about 5-10 minutes after and it progresses to get worse. My reactions last about 2 weeks though..some people don't get reactions that last that long. Since everyone is different it is hard to tell you specifically what will happen.

I know within minutes, my daughter can take days. We do each have a specific pattern that we have learned to recognize over time.

My son is 3, as you know, and he doesn't get any symptoms. As you said, everyone is different. Some people know right away, others it's a couple hours, and I've even heard others say they have about a day delay.

Jeeze, y'all are not making me feel warm and fuzzy about being able to look back at what he has eaten and when to determine what the problem item was

Okay back to the orginal plan, I posion my self first, and if I live...he can try it

Sorry, but everyone is truly different. Does he have symptoms that you notice each time?? I won't go into detail as to what MINE are because that is VERY personal... :o ... but I would go by that. I get the same syptoms within 12 hours each time I get any gluten at all. Mine, like Kaiti, can last up to 2 weeks.

Good luck!! :D:(:D

Hi Vincent,

With time, you will find his pattern to gluten ingestion. It took us a good solid year of attention and looking to find most of the quirks and timing of my ds's soy allergy. We felt we had it down pretty much by age 3. Keep in mind, we were paying attention for a year previous, and had him off soy for another previous 6 months, and knew something was up allergy-wise for about 6 months before that!

The super-obvious symtoms we pinned down before we knew it was soy, but we didn't fully understand the timing of it then. So, I guess it took us about 2 years

Since you already know to look for gluten, you will probably catch on much faster than we did. :)

It just dawned on me that we are talking about a child...watch for behavior changes even if there are no gastro symptoms. That is sometimes a better indicator with a child or adolescent than the usual symptoms for us. Has anyone seen the research just released on teenage depression and celiac disease?

Thank you that’s really helpful, hopeful won’t have to have a biopsy.

That means the normal range (i.e. not celiac disease) would be a result less than 14.99.  Your result is WAY above that. Some gastroenterologists would diagnose that as celiac disease even without a confirming biopsy because it is more than ten times the top of the normal range.

Hi everyone. Back in 2022 I had blood work drawn for iga ext gliadin. Since then I’ve developed worse stomach issues and all other health issues. My doctor just said cut out gluten. He did no further testing. Please see my test results attached. I just need some direction cause I feel so ill and the stomach pain is becoming worse. Can this test show indications for other gastrointestinal diseases?

Thank you. These were the results TTG ABS NUMERICAL: > 250.0 U/mL [< 14.99]  Really don’t understand the results!

Clearly from what you've said the info on Dailymed is much more up to date than the other site, which hasn't been updated since 2017. The fact that some companies might be repackaging drugs does not mean the info on the ingredients is not correct.
