Question About Signature

Apparently since I joined, the signature length allowed has been changed. I want to change ONE THING on my signature, the part that says "I do not have ADD", because I DO have it. But each time I try to delete that, it won't save my signature, telling me it's TOO LONG. No matter how much I delete, it's still too long! I dont want my signature to be reduced to nothing. How small does it have to BE now??? I'll just have to leave it the way it is if it's going to be tiny. HELP!

hmm, I'm not sure. It says 'any length'. Maybe Peter or Scott will have better answers.

There were new rules placed on signatures a while back, because some of them were getting out of hand, particularly with embedded images which slow down the board for everybody. Existing signatures are "grandfathered" since the rules check takes place only when saving a new or updated signature. The rules, which are at the bottom of the page when editing your signature are:

Your signature may contain:

Skylark Collaborator

Are URLs supposed to be allowed? It won't let me put a link in my signature at all and the settings say "up to 0 URLs". I wanted to link the EMPowerPlus in case someone is curious. (I have no business association with TrueHope - It's just a product that changed my life so I like to let other bipolars know it exists.)

I believe that URLs are supposed to be allowed. I tried adding and removing a couple of different ones to a test user and had no problems. There are some specific sites that are blocked.

Skylark Collaborator

Here's what I get if I try to link to TrueHope in my signature. It works OK in my profile so presumably the link is not banned.

An Error Occurred

Sorry, an error occurred. If you are unsure on how to use a feature, or don't know why you got this error message, try looking through the help files for more information.

[#10211] You may only use up to 0 urls in your signature.

I tried again with the test user. It currently has two external links and one image in the signature, and both links work. Both he and you are in the same membership group, "Advanced Members," so the privilege levels should be identical. I'll ask the board administrator to have a look.

Scott Adams Grand Master

Hi Peter, can you let me know exactly which method you used to add the links that worked? Perhaps you are both using a different method...

Take care,

Scott

Log on the the board as XXX (anonymously, but I doubt that that matters). Browser used is Firefox 3.6.6.

Click on picture of XXX to left of his user name, to access profile.

Click on blue "Edit my Profile" button.

Click on green "Change Signature" button on left side.

Modify the text in the window, inserting Open Original Shared Link

Open Original Shared Link

I'm doing exactly the same thing. The odd thing is that on the "Edit Signture" page, I have this at the bottom.

Signature Restrictions

Your signature may contain:

    * Up to 1 images

    * Images up to 100 x 100 pixels

    * Up to 0 URLs

    * Up to 10 lines

It definitely doesn't want me putting in links. :lol:

      Pablohoyasaxa, were you ever taking dapsone? it would have knocked your blisters out within a week.

      We had the follow up endoscopy 1 year out from the first one. We left that day and they said visually it looked good so he thought she'd be negative again. Results came back this week as celiac sprue present and level Marsh 3A. So she doesn't have much damage but she is now positive for celiacs... Just thought I'd post in case in takes anyone else a year to get a diagnosis.

      @thejayland10, did you read this article?

      I need to supplement my vitamin intake and was told AG1 was a good product.  I checked their website and they claim to be gluten-free, but I see that barley is one of the ingredients.  If the product is gluten-free how can it safely contain barley?

      @nataliallano, whatever else can be said, you need to get serious about eating gluten free. Lots of people with celiac disease are like you. We call them "silent celiacs". They have few or no GI symptoms and falsely assume no damage is being done to their body by continuing to consume gluten. Neurological damage is one of them.
