Oh no...

Just started on the SCD diet (6 days). Now I have oily D that seeps out. Have to diaper myself. Been put on a liquid diet. Taken off all meds...

My mom is talking about gall bladder problems...

Don't we need our gall bladder???? I don't want surgery.

Now on a liquid diet and taken off of all meds. That's fun.

You poor thing! Hang in there....

What is the SCD diet? celiac disease is celiac disease, but what is the S for?

Maybe because you are on liquids that your stools aren't solid?

my dr. asked me if my stools were oily when we had our first appt but he didn't tell me what that would have signified (my stools were not oily).

go to the dr. right away I would say-the GI specialist.

Both of my in-laws had their gall bladders taken out and 2 of my friends and they are fine and totally normal so don't worry!!!!

What have you been eating since you started the SCD diet? Are you still doing the intro part?

I'm looking at a book on digestion and nutrition right now. These are the symptoms indicating an acute gallbladder attack:

Pain in the upper right abomen radiating to the shoulder blade or neck

Nausea, vomiting, severe pain

Severe pain after eating fried or fatty foods

Do any of these ring a bell? I don't see anything about diarrhea. I know that sometimes people have their gallbladder removed. You can live without it, but I think you have to make some dietary changes.

I have had D off and on since starting SCD (I've been on it for about six weeks now). Most of my BMs are very strange-looking, but I haven't had trouble with leaking.

Tammy, who is saying they aren't safe for celiacs? Are you saying that is stated on the product packaging itself or that you are reading where people on forums like this one are claiming they aren't safe? Who is "they"?

If a product is labelled "gluten-free" it is considered to be safe for people with celiac disease (in the USA they need to test below 20 ppm). Some people prefer to eat only foods that are certified gluten-free, which are supposed to test below 10 ppm, however, they don't always test this low.

Why are so many gluten free items not safe for celiacs. I read labels all the time. I don’t know how many times they say that and are not safe for people who have celiacs. So confused. Help….

I’m recovering from diverticulitis and she feels this will help my overall digestive health.

Welcome to the forum, @Jay Heying! What is the reason your doctor is recommending this?
