Nightmares About Getting Glutened?

I'm curious how many people have nightmares about getting glutened, and what normally happens in the nightmares. I've had maybe 7-8 in the last 4.5 years. Last night I had another one.

Last night I dreamed that I had Little Caesar's pizza while I was in Hawaii. (I just watched Hawaii Five-0.) I was horrified when I realized later in the dream that it was not gluten-free. I woke up in a panic, then realized I was ok after about 5 minutes, and not going to be comatose for two weeks. Seriously though, that's the grossest pizza in the world.

HILARIOUS!!!! i actually had my 1st nightmare the other night. i dreamt that i had ordered a california roll at a sushi restaurant. i felt comfortable cause i brought gluten free soy sauce with me.... but later i was 2nd guessing if it was REAL crab or IMITATION crab- cause i know they put wheat in some imitation crab...

when i woke up- i thought back to the one time i got sushi since going gluten free- and i honestly cant remember if it was real crab or imitation in what i got. ???? :/

Funny. I've had several. They typically involve a family dinner where I eat bread. Then I realize, oh crap, i forgot I can't eat bread. For me there is never the sense that I thought something was gluten-free when it wasn't - it's that I just spaced out and ate bread. Then I worry in the dream how I will get sick, vomiting or crazy pooping. I typically stop having the dream before I find out, though in one dream I had the same worries but the only facility was an outhouse.

Ug.

I've had about 6 or so over 2 years. They always involve an everyday situation at home where I just grab something boring like a piece of bread from the table and eat it, then have a terrible moment of realisation that I'd forgotten all about gluten. I then get almost hyterically upset, and it can go on for ages.

Unlike most of my dreams they always feel very real, so I have a real relief when I wake up from it!

oh, i'd like to add here- that when i was still on gluten, even if not much- i often had nights where i was in horrible abdominal distress that sometimes woke me up in the morning- and i would usually at this time have a nightmare like that show "i didnt know i was pregnant"... i would be in the hospital with LABOR PAINNN and think- but how and when did i get pregnant????? i didnt know???

So I've been dealing with chasing the name celiac because of my body actively dealing with health issues related to celiac though not eating. Diagnosed in 1994 before foods eliminated from diet. After 25 years with former pcp I googled celiac specialist and she wasn't because of what ive been through. I wanted my results to be sent to my pcp but nothing was sent.I have email copies.I did one zoom call with np with team member from celiac specialist in Nov 2025 and she asked me why I wanted to know why I wanted the celiac diagnosis so bad, I sad I don't, its my life and I need revalidaion because its affecting me.KB stated well it shows you are.I asked then why am I going through all this.I was labeled unruly. Its been a celiac circus and medical has caused anxiety and depression no fault to my own other than being born with bad genetics. How is it legal for medical professionals to gaslight patients that are with an ailment coming for help to be downplayed? KB put in my records that she personally spent 120min with me and I think the zoom call was discussing celiac 80 min ONE ZOOM call.SHE is responsible for not explaining to my pcp about celiac disease am I right?

I've noticed with my age and menopause my smell for bread gives me severe migraines and I know this. Its alarming that there are all these fabulous bakeries, sandwich places pizza places popping up in confined areas.Just the other day I suffered a migraine after I got done with my mri when a guy with a brown paper bag walk in front of me and I smelled that fresh dough bread with tuna, I got a migraine when we got home.I hate im that sensitive. Its alarming these places are popping up in airports as well.I just saw on the news that the airport ( can't remember which  one)was going to have a fabulous smelling bakery. Not for sensitive celiacs, this can alter their health during their travel which isn't safe. More awareness really NEEDS to be promoted, so much more than just a food consumption!FYI I did write to Stanislaus to let them know my thoughts on the medical field not knowing much about celiac and how it affects one.I also did message my gi the 3 specialist names that was given on previous post on questions on celiac. I pray its not on deaf door.
