gluten-free Destination Wedding

Hello fellow gluten-free-ers!

My boyfriend and I have been talking about a destination wedding and we have settled on Thailand, India or Sri Lanka. I know a lot about all the cuisines but I was wondering if, by chance, anyone else has planned or been to a wedding in those countries or knows of any place in those countries that offer gluten-free-ness. We'd like a resort but are open to anything. We don't care if it's by the beach or not....

Thanks much!

I would do it at the Taj West End in Bangalore. Having traveled the globe for 30 years that is my favorite hotel (outside of the Big Island that is) There are a number of other Taj places that are really nice too but the staff at the West End is fantastic. The staff is excellent at gluten Free preparation and made me anything to order. The only other place I would consider but have not done would be the first class train tours which are rather expensive. I'm told they are excellent and something thats on my bucket list.

I've been sick every one of a dozen times in Thailand so I tend to avoid staying there for more than a few days on some project.

Thank you both!

We have been ALLLL over the world, we travel for a living and these are the few countries we haven't been to. We have done 90% of Greece so that's out. And we are looking further into the Bangalore Hotel. Thanks and please keep the info coming! :)

I'm not a traveler, so can't be of any help--but just wanted to wish you the best! Congrats :D

I've been pretty much everywhere as either a photo journalist and then as a researcher on tropical fruit.

Outside of here in Hawaii India would be my first choice in the tropics and Japan would be 1st choice for anywhere else followed by Germany. The Taj West end grounds are beautiful and there are a number of day trips

The F&B Manager at the Taj is Vinod Pandey -- GM is Arindam Kunar. Director of Sales and just a great lad y is Divya Prabhakar -- she can fix anything in India!

good luck

Thank you both!

This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers. Apparently, the results were good enough that the company is applying for fast track approval.  Anokion Announces Positive Symptom Data from its Phase 2 Trial Evaluating KAN-101 for the Treatment of Celiac Disease https://www.reddit.com/r/Celiac/comments/1krx2wh/kan_101_trial_put_on_hold/

Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
