So as many of you know, I am MOSTLY dairy free, but not entirely. But yesterday I felt so sick after eating a few dairy items (and they were only barely dairy...). I can't do it anymore... Dairy is OUT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! So good bye dairy... Time to be more careful what I eat I guess....

PS are there dairy free chocolate chips and such out there? Butterscotch? Etc...

I'm sensitive to dairy as well, though I seem to be able to tolerate Goat Milk without side effects. That might be an option for you, perhaps?

Have you thought that you might have lactose intolerance? I have it. If I don't take a lactaid tablet before dairy, I bloat, gas, terrible pains etc. Maybe try Lactaid tablets and Lactaid milk. Works like a charm for me. I love the stuff!

I have seen them in the gluten free sections at both Walmart & Fred Meyer (crap, you guys dont have FM in SLC any more, i forgot!). i just bought some for the 1st time last week, to have on hand if i am tempted by the oodles of chocolate chip goodies that always magicly appear at our house during the holiday season... if i have my own chocolate chips available, if i get too tempted I can make some cookies of my own (gluten-free) cookies & leave the evil wheat filled ones for my DH (or, if he decides he doesn't want them, neighbors). Well, of course, i had to open the bag & taste test them... lets just say, if i decide to make choc chip cookies, I will need to get another bag. These are very yummy w/ bananas/ almond butter/ honey :)

Hope everyone has a good Thanksgiving :)!

What you’re describing is actually very common, and unfortunately the timing of the biopsy likely explains the confusion. Yes, it is absolutely possible for the small intestine to heal enough in three months on a strict gluten-free diet to produce a normal or near-normal biopsy, especially when damage was mild to begin with. In contrast, celiac antibodies can stay elevated for many months or even years after gluten removal, so persistently high antibody levels alongside the celiac genes and clear nutrient deficiencies strongly point to celiac disease, even if you don’t feel symptoms. Many people with celiac are asymptomatic but still develop iron and vitamin deficiencies and silent intestinal damage. The lack of immediate symptoms makes it harder emotionally, but it doesn’t mean gluten isn’t harming you. Most specialists would consider this a case of celiac disease with a false-negative biopsy due to early healing rather than “something else,” and staying consistently gluten-free is what protects you long-term—even when your body doesn’t protest right away.

Yes, I meant if you had celiac disease but went gluten-free before screening, your results would end up false-negative. As @trents mentioned, this can also happen when a total IGA test isn't done.

I found at Disney springs and Disney they have specialist that when told about dietary restrictions they come and talk to you ,explain cross contamination measures tsken and work with you on choices. Its the one place I dont worry once I've explained I have celiac disease.  Thier gluten free options are awesome.

Have you tried Pure Encapsulations supplements? This is a brand my doctor recommends for me. I have no issues with this brand.
