Deboles Pasta

I made some Deboles rice spiral pasta last night and now I am sick. This was the first time that I have tried this pasta. I usually buy another brand but this one was cheaper. Never again. I went on their website and they have recalled some pasta due to undeclared wheat. This is not the first time that this company has recalled pasta for the same reason. They recalled a corn pasta last year for undecalred wheat. I emailed the company, the same company that produces Rice Dream and they told me that they don't have dedicated equipment or a dedicate facility. They produce whole wheat pastas on the same equipment and "wash" between gluten and gluten free pastas.

I haven't been this sick in a long time. :(

I sent Deboles a message and let them know that I'll think twice about their products when I'm at the grocery store. :)

My boys and I will eat rice pasta if we don't have anyother choice but we like the corn pastas the best. Sams Mill corn pasta at our house. Even hubby will eat it. Sorry you are feeling bad. I hope it passes soon.

At the very least they should put on the package "manufactured on shared equipment as wheat"

This company who also makes the Garden of eatin corn chips recalled those as well for undeclared wheat. What gets me is that all of the food from this sucky company is labeled gluten free.

So good to know. I'm so sorry. I tend to be leery of anything owned by the Hain Food Group, which DeBoles is, because they also own Arrowhead Mills, and that always makes me sick.

On a better note, I kept trying to make DeBoles Pasta and Velveeta shells, and kept getting sick. I have to take Lactaid to digest the Velveeta, but with other brands of gluten-free pasta, like H.E.B. or WalMart Brand, I'm just fine.

I'm just glad it's not the Velveeta. =0)

I am just not a fan and will eat it only under duress. The last few times I've purchased their product (in a pinch) the pasta looked like it had little tiny cracks in it and turned to complete mush 4 minutes into the cooking process. There is definitely something going on with their manufacturing process.

Thanks for explaining your situation in more detail. You are in a difficult place it seems, not having the control you need over what you eat. What are the possibilities in the foreseeable future of you finding another living situation where you have more control over your diet? You are seventeen so soon you will be an adult. What is in your future? Education? Employment. I can see now that your main impediment to health and healing is not vitamins and supplements but being able to consistently eat gluten free.

Two thoughts: 1. What if the testing turns out negative? That won't rule out the development of active celiac disease later in life. You may have NCGS now which will transition in to celiac later on. 2. Your plan implies dishonesty in hiding it from your doctor and your insurance company.

Thank you for your response. I'd love to read more about your suggestion, everything I find online speaks to the opposite. Unfortunately I need the HRT due to many other factors (post menopause symptoms and osteoporosis) so stopping the estrogen would be very unfortunate. Vitamin D is pretty good, not great, but now below the norm at 36

I take a vitamin called 21 century it has everything magnesium potassium b12 and it's just a full supplement for the day ,then I have one that my mom brought which are gummies and then I tried centrum ,I also have range of different irons (iron sulphate, iron glyciatnate and others . My problem is that I live with my aunt and due to the circumstances in my home country ( war ) we live all in a small house and they don't cook food that is rich in food and I am not comfortable in cooking for my self like meat or something like that they get mad ,that I ate everything.so I mostly eat what they eat in the day which is just a big meal and then I make small snacks that i could eat I wanted to buy moringa powder or things that I can mix easily and put them in a water bottle.my family don't take things serious about celiac they just believe I am small because I eat rice which doesn't make you get fat as they believe.they also make fun of me when I say I am gonna eat alone due to your contamination I really struggle with them.also I have vitamin D ( it was the most absorbable vitamin for me ) my blood test went from 21 to 34 after i took 50000um I guess every week and that's it .can you recommend me vitamins I can buy from Amazon or anywhere

Elevated estrogen or fluctuations in estrogen can contribute to leaky gut and cause elevated anti-gliadin IgG in people with celiac disease who are on a gluten-free diet,  High levels of progesterone have been shown to decrease gut permeability. Talk to your doctor about a vacation from the estrogen, from your decription it looks to be the culpret.  How is your vitamin D?
