Billirubin Elevated Pre Diiagnosis?

I was going over my CBC that I had 3 weeks ago when I ended up in the Emergency room.... Now I don't know if the doctor did not notice it or he just decided not to bring it to my attention but I just realized that my Billirubin level was slightly elevated to 2.0 mg/dl... Now at the time of the blood work I was rapidly losing weight, dehydrated and my colon was inflamed so I'm not sure if that had anything to do with it but, did anybody have elevated Billirubin levels Pre-diagnoses? I have an appointment in a week to get complete blood work and some Vitamin panels done. Hopefully my Billi levels have dropped since going gluten-free.

After seeing your post I decided to look through my old medical records to see if my Billi levels were elevated on previous CBC tests. I found one from December of '09 and sure enough!!.. 2.1..It is funny because I now specifically remember the doctor calling me to tell me my blood count came back fine and that my billirubin was slightly elevated and it was nothing to worry about and we would talk about it on my next visit.. Guess he forgot..

Also the ER doctor 3 weeks ago told me it was nothing to worry about also and that some people just have a higher billirubin level that others.. I call Bull****!

Celiac can have impact on the liver. Can't say for sure but you might see those numbers come down after you have been gluten free for a while.

My billirubin was slightly elevated before diagnosis. It normalized within 6 months gluten-free.

Just to update,,,

I saw a new GI doctor yesterday.The other than my bilirubins my liver function tests were normal. She diagnosed me with gilbert-meulengracht syndrome,

      This treatment looks promising. Its aim is to provoke immune tolerance of gluten, possibly curing the disease. It passed the phase 2 trial with flying colours, and I came across a post on Reddit by one of the study volunteers.       Hi everyone  This has been a crazy year so far... How many people actually get entire sensory overload from gluten or something similar ?  My jaw is going nuts ..and that nerve is affecting my upper back and so on ...  Bones even hurt.  Brain fog. Etc  I had eggs seemed fine.   Then my aid cooked a chicken stir fry in the microwave because my food order shorted a couple key items .   I was so hungry but I noticed light breading and some ingredients with SOY !!! Why are we suffering with soy ? This triggered a sensitivity to bananas and gluten-free yogurt it seems like it's a cycle that it goes on.  The tiniest amount of something gets me I'm guessing the tiny bit of breading that I took one tiny nibble of ...yikes ..im cringing from it .. Feels like my stomach is going to explode yet still very hungry 😔  How long does this last?! Thank you so much

      I have had orthodontic work done. The 3M invisalign material was no problem. BUT my retainers are another matter. They seemed okay for a few months. Now, however, they cause a burning sensation on my tongue, gums and insides of my lips. The burning sensation is now spreading to my throat. I notice it when I breathe. This is annoying and interferes with my enjoyment of eating. I am visiting with my provider tomorrow. We'll see where this goes from here.
