Any Side Effects After Going Gluten-Free?

We're on day 3 of my daughter being gluten-free. I thought I read somewhere about withdrawal symtoms from gluten, so wondering if there's anything I should look out for? How did your kids react eating gluten-free?

TIA

The only thing I can think of is that they'll seem hungrier at first, because bread is very filling. But for kids it's far healthier to be eating fruit, say, rather than a junky processed floury food.

The worst side effect is on mom: how to prepare for packed lunches, snacks, play dates, birthday party replacements, and other social events. Those are the hardest things for kids to understand, and it's tedious to not be able to just grab something, or just go with the flow.

Hunger was the only negative side effect for us. Be careful to stay away from the prepackaged snack treats. Muffins , cupcakes etc... really empty calories and sugar highs and lows follow.

use popcorn or veggies for fillers and go light on the dairy .

If they have any behavioral symptoms when on gluten I have read their behavior can get worse for a while before getting better.

We're now on day 4 and I haven't seen any improvement with behaviour. Praying it won't be long x

Interesting, when I suffered for a few months with ectopics I noticed that carbohydrates would cause indigestion and bloating in my stomach, then that would lead to my heart skipping beats, and I could feel it in my throat, it was very unsettling.  My last serious bout of this was after eating a Muller Rice Pudding for breakfast.   I happened to be wearing a 48 hour halter at the time and cardiology picked it up, but they weren't worried about what they saw. There was some British doctor who'd made some videos on the Vagus nerve that I remember watching at the time which made sense of what I was experiencing, there did seem to be some sort of connection.

I asked my cardiologist about stopping vitamins.  He said his tests account for all detectable vitamins from sources other than food.  I only need to stop them for a couple of days.  He has me keep records of meds and vitamins I've ingested over the past 10 days and prior and he does his calculations.

Reply to treats I try and eat to bring up the glucose. Sometime I get up 3 times a night and eat something. I don't think food is the issue. A lot of the food they say should help doesn't.  Many mornings my level is 59 and I feel sick, sometimes for hours. It has been recommended I go to an Endocrinologist.
