What Supplements Do You Take For Hair Loss?

My hair is very thin, especially on the crown, and now starting to thin at the temples. It's also brittle and hard to grow. I've seen people here take special supplement formulations to improve their hair loss and condition, I'm wondering if there's anything I can take to hopefully see some improvement.

My doctor put me on sublingual b-12. He said that a deficiency in b-12 causes the body to not utilize other nutrients properly. Once I started on b-12 my hair mostly grew back in.

Brittle hair is a sign of thyroid problems.

Biotin is also good for hair growth and metabolism.

A good multivitamin can help too.

Someone here suggested Biosil and zinc a while ago. I've been taking them for about a month and I noticed little teeny hairs coming in around my hairline finally. I am eternally grateful for whoever suggested that mix!

Also, I take a liquid supplement called Floravital that is a mix of iron and B vitamins. It sort of tastes like weak prune juice- not the greatest, but not horrid. I've taken it before and it makes my hair grow super fast.

It can take longer than 6 months for antibodies to drop to the normal range,  My DGP IgA took a few years as I got stricter and stricter about being gluten free  But having symptoms again could also mean you’re getting some gluten in your diet.

Hi, I just had my 6 month check after being diagnosed Celiac 6 months ago.  All of my panel numbers were normal except: Deamidated Gliadin Abs, IgA (It is 31 with high being over 30)  I have also been having symptoms again. Am I not actually being as careful as I think I am or does it take longer than 6 months for this particular test to come back down?  I can't get ahold of my doctor this week as she is out.     Thank you!

That is very strange, because it looks to me like two very different test results, but for the same test! It's definitely time to contact your doctor for clarity on this.

Scott, thank you SO MUCH for this!! She has been through so much in the last three years as we've tried to track down answers. This language will definitely help me help her to reframe.
