Bath And Body Works And Wet Ones

I am wondering about Bath and Body Works Antibacterial Hand soaps and some lotions. Does anyone know if Bath and Body Works is generally gluten-free?

Also, does anyone know about Wet Ones hand wipes?

I think my daughter is getting some hidden gluten from somewhere because although she is still doing so much better than she was pre-gluten-free diet, she is still having gross stools and her tummy is looking a little distended still. She hasn't complained of it hurting though.

These are products she uses daily so I was wondering if she could be getting some trace amounts in her system.

Thanks so much!

Shannon

Shannon-

How long has your daughter been gluten-free?

I can't specifically speak to the antibacterial washes...but I stopped using all bath and body works products, simply because most of their stuff contains oats--the body washes definitely do. Some products you might try instead, if you end up switching, are California Baby--all natural, chemical free lotions, washes and sunscreens for sensitive adults and babies/kids. Their stuff is great and it is all gluten-free ! They have bubble baths too... Ck them out here: Open Original Shared Link

I tried to ck on the wet ones for you...but can't figure out who makes them. I would probably call the manufacturer on that one. Good luck!

Hi!

i talked to a really nice guy on the phone last week about my Bath & Body Works Anti-Bacterial Deep Cleansing Hand Soap (flavor: Kitchen Spice). he said "they are formulated to be gluten-free". I had been using some antibacterial lotion in the kitchen as well and when i asked about it, he said that it had wheat germ oil in it. i felt so ridiculous. it said it right on the front of the bottle! :( (it was white tea and something, i can't remember -- i threw it out.) i have some other things to call about as well; i'll post when i get some answers.

good luck.

Laurel.

Thanks for your replies. I couldn't find 1-800 numbers for either product, so I was just hoping someone would know.

Ella has been gluten-free for a little over a month. She is SO much better for the most part, but I just wonder if she's still getting a little of something because her stools are still really gross and her tummy still looks a little distended at times. I am not sure if she is just always going to be like that or what. Her stools are very mushy and there is undigested food in them. They look like pudding in consistency. Is that normal? I guess I don't even know anymore.

Anyway, thank you for your help!

The Bath & Body products I had checked on before were not gluten free. Some may be though...only talked to them about some products.

Do any of the ingredients on the labels look suspicious? I think if they contain gluten it could be causing her problems still...especially being a baby...I'm sure she puts her hands in her mouth often. My lotion had wheat germ oil in it and I was getting really sick until I figured out what it was.

I will give my vote for California Baby. I use the super sensitive stuff and its free of everything bad. :)

I am new to the gluten free lifestyle and I received the kitchen lemon hand soap for Christmas.  It does not have wheat germ oil or oats listed in the ingredients but I'm going to call to make sure.  Their number is 1-800-395-1001 if you would like to call.

This is a 7 year old thread. All info in previous posts could be outdated.

Sorry. Counted wrong - 8 years old. Bath and Body Works are constantly changing products and formulations.

This is really helpful  I had not considered sugar alcohols or inulin as triggers. Thanks for the practical baking tips too color coding and baking G F first makes a lot of sense. Thiamax (TTFD) plus a B-complex, and if you want benfotiamine, the Life Extension formula covers that at ~100 mg.

High fiber can definitely cause sudden GI distress especially if it’s a new addition but accidental gluten exposure can feel similar. Keeping a simple food/symptom log and introducing new gluten-free foods one at a time can really help you spot the pattern. Thanks for asking  I’m mainly looking for gluten-free staples and snacks. Any recommendations for brands or go-to items would be appreciated.

sorry a bit confused so I should take my B complex along with Objective Nutrients Thiamax for TTFD but what about a Benfotiamine to take. The Life extensions contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine together or im confusing myself. I am trying to see if I take Thiamax what should I take for Benfotiamine. Thanks EDITING after further research I see ones water soluble ones fat soluble. So I guess 100MG as you suggested of Life Extension contains Benfotiamine and Thiamine Hydrochloride. and the Objective Nutrients Thiamax contains TTFD.     would work for me.

I put on over 12kg by eating protein with every meal, 3 to 5 times a day. Eggs, Chicken, Tuna, Turkey etc. I stay away from too much red meat as it can be inflammatory. Scott is correct. I've come across a bunch of Coeliac PT's on Tiktok and Instagram. They all say the same thing, the key is getting enough protein and consistency.
