  1. I called Hershey and got a really nice response. Things do change but not often. Right now you can feel safe with Chocolate Kisses Mik chocolate Bars Milk Bars with almonds Jolly Rancher Cocoa Unsweetened and semi sweet chips Semi sweet chocolate Chocolate Syrup. Hope this helps!
  2. I know that suave and head and shoulders are gluten-free. Dove is too but I'm guessing you don't want a woman's deoderant. Crest is gluten-free. Kraft is really good. If anything has gluten including the vinegar, modified food starch, even mustard flour should ever have gluten they will state it after the ingredient. If you don't see the words wheat...
  3. Thanks for the link. Nice article. Glad to see the word is getting out to the general population.
  4. I called Friday's they say it is gluten free. Suprising answer I thought. Call your local and see if they give you the same answer.
  5. I agree it sounds like allergies. The 2 things I have pinpointed that cause me to break out all over are iodine and white potato. Benedryl did not help with either of these.
  6. I am trying Amitriptyline, 5 mg is all I can tolerate. I think it is helping but not really convinced yet, I have been on it 3 weeks.

    ARCHIVED Can't Get Well!

Same situation. I found that the kinickinick tapioca bread is a problem for me too. I'm trying Samis now. Seems to be better. I have tested positive for celiac and thyroid disease. Everything else I have discovered through elimination. I have strong reactions and feel sure that Iodine, eggs, nightshades (especially tomato, pepper, banana, white...
  8. Kraft- Sweet and Sour Sauce Kraft-Cocktail Sauce Kraft-Tarter Sauce Food Starch and Modified Food Starch: When listed in the ingredient statement of Kraft products, “food starch” and “modified food starch” often refer to corn starch. Our ingredient suppliers assure us that the corn starch we use in our products does not contain gluten. If a Kraft product...
  9. I have heard that Kraft does a good job with labels, but if they say modified food starch, toss them. I will do some research of the items you listed and get back to you ASAP.
  10. Thanks for the heads up. I guess I wil be looking for Guar Gum at the health food store from now on.
  11. I'm listening and empathize. Don't worry about the length of the post, it is good to get it out and know that the people listening completely understand your frustrations. I began feeling like your son when I was 17 too. I never got diagnosed until I as 40. I was forced into anti-depressants. They actually make things worse if you take them when it is unecessary...
  12. Thanks these do sound good. And I just happened to have 2 giant pumpkins to cook.
  13. You have really been doing a lot to figure this out. I don't know what to say except that havingceliac doen't mean no more pasta it just means you need to eat gluten free pasta. Once I obstained fora while I found that I really enjoy italian rice pasta. Gluten free really is not bad. Especially if you feel better. Hope someone else can help you with your...
  14. I checked them out on-line what a great menu. You are so lucky. Thanks for the link glutenfreerestaurants.com I headed there to see if anything is listed in my area. What happened to the midwest? Not a single listing. Bum. You folks in the NE are so lucky.
  15. Open Original Shared Link You can order from her. Compare the prices, maybe this wil solve your problem.
  16. Me too hypothyrodism and celiac. I just wanted to add that thyroid meds did not work for me because iodine blocked the uptake. Took me 20 years to figure that one out. It was not until I figured that one out that I actually began to get better. Fairly common with DH. They thought I was nuts too. The reality is they were ignorant. My doctor is not covered...
  17. PF Chang has a good heart but screw up orders all the time. Even if you ask repeatedly. I gave up.
  18. I'm from Madison. All the posts listed great places but last week I found a really great place. I think better than the rest. Especially if you have multiple allergies. C's Specialty Foods 462 Commerce Dr. Siute A, Madison 53719 Char owns it and is very knowledgeable.M-F 10-7 sat. 10-6 I got eggroll wrappers, rice tortillas that work for...
  19. I struggle with whether I am lactose intolerant. For me I can do small amounts of some dairy without a problem. The harder the cheese the better. The higher the fat content the better. So I use real cream in my coffee, and stick to parm, cheddar, swiss and mozz. Rich ice cream seems to work but ice milk is not okay. I found some great mixes from Namaste...
  20. All that I can tell you is that if is different for different people. My mom is sick in less than an hou and better just as quickly. My sister's reactions are more delayed. I never have the classic reactions so I must be extremely careful. I could do damage without knowing.
  21. Itching! Oh yes! It was driving me crazy. My dermatologist suggested just sticking with baby oil and vasoline to mosturize. Suave is gluten-free and helped too. But when I cut out white potao, it all stopped. I tested a few times and sure enough a slice of potato, potato flour in gluten-free products, even 4-5 potato chip bring on the itch. Often it is delayed...
  22. I am taking l-glutamine powder, 20mg twice a day, with pro and pre(FOS) biotics. I found that my blood sugar stablized in a couple days. The sweats stopped and I cleared up the congestion and cough I have been plagued with for years. I am anxious to see what the doctor says about the other enzymes you folks are taking. He's indicated that the l-glute...
  23. I finally feel I am using all safe products. The diet healed all the DH but my face and scalp. Suave is a cheap but a good product for hair. I also found clinique to be very helpful. Many cosmetics change formulas often so they do not publish a list of gluten-free products. If you go to the clinique counter they will call and verify each product you...
  24. I have tested positive for celiac. Everything else I have discovered through elimination. I have strong reactions and feel sure that Iodine, eggs, nightshades (especially tomato, pepper, banana, white potato) all are very problematic. I can tolerate small amounts of dairy. One serving of hard cheese or ice cream daily seem okay. Milk is out but cream...
  25. My heart goes out to you. I don't have all the things you do but I can empathize. I have been so sick I too felt I was dying. I am living proof things can get better. I can tell you that you are lucky you got diagnosed. Liz gave good advice about what to eat. The fewer number of foods the better at first, is a good idea. I keep a food log. It has really...
