  1. Don't be afraid of ms. It can be better to discover what is the underlying cause of your health issues and combat them. Go to your regular doctor. They will request a consult with a neurologist. They can look for damage to lead to an MS diagnosis. There are medicines available to help alleviate some of the brain fog. Nutrients, suppliments, diet...
  2. More vegetables, less fruit. And uncooked as opposed to what the other poster said. I was just reading a post about going raw and have been interested in this myself. Raw vegetables, uncooked are very nutritious. Nuts are also a nice source of protein and help balance out the vegs and fruits. Potatoes (cooked) are a nice starch. Grated potato pancakes...
  3. What a wonderful subject for me. I am just getting into this. I have found so many herbs to be full of hidden health benefits. I use parsley, basil and cilantro quite liberally now. I would ask is there an informative book you would recommend? I have a new restaurant nearby that just opened up. It serves all raw foods. So many delicious lunches...

They have suggested that all with MS should be tested for celiac.
  5. Gluten free DAIRY FREE, look into what parents of autistic children have discovered. It is too complicated for me to explain. You should remove dairy. In the meantime, look into MS. Perhaps you have MS.
  6. Monthly, , I require several kinkinik chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting. I am not ok until I have two with a cup of coffee that has three scoops of sugar. It cures my worst moods at that time of the month!
  7. May I recommend that you all go dairy free? I know that this goes against the standard teaching in the U.S., but believe me dairy is bad for your bones. Please do research on line to educate yourselves. You require less calcium when you get your calcium from plant sources.
  8. Yes, I had that pain. Went to my gyn afraid it was endometriosis, but she said I should evaluate my diet to see if there was gluten getting in somewhere. I found my chapstick and lipstick had gluten. I stopped using them and the pain went away. My doctor is a dream compared to most. She believes gluten can trigger many pains we do not attribute to gluten...
  9. This is sophmoric. You cannot say I intentionally insulted you. Thanking your friend after I have apologized is tantamount to ganging up on me. Honestly, my post was not insulting. You act insulted, but really, you've insulted me. It is you who owes me an apology. But I am not asking for one, nor am I expecting one. Clearly you like interent squabbles...
  10. I do not wish to quarrel.
  11. American culture is very much to blame for the attitude you expressed. Mine is more European. As I stated, my parents were much older which also lends to my parenting style. There is an enormous difference between my parenting style and that of my peer group. Culturally as well. The poster brought up counseling. I suggested the child is not at an...
  12. I enjoy spanish rice. 2 tbs oil, 2 cups rice, one med onion diced, some green pepper diced, 2 cloves garlic minced- stir fry until rice is golden brown. Add 1 1/2 cup warm water to pan. Add 1/2 can diced tomatoes. Add a tbs chili powder. Salt to taste. Cover for 15 minutes- check if done. Fluff. oh, no. I see now where you said you are staying...
  13. Do you know that kinkinnik breads have a gluten free, soy free, egg free, dairy free bread. He might like that. Otherwise, corn bread homemade is a delicious option.
  14. I believe the soy is the issue. We had to eliminate soy several years ago.
  15. If you do not buy them, you can say you are all out. If you do not look for them at the store, you can say you did not see them at the store. My children are not picky eaters today, but they were average children growing up. I have a nine year old, an 11 year old and a 14 year old. They would make a fuss at new meals as toddlers, but they knew the...

Carriefaith, thank you for the recipes. It is probably somewhat my fault at this point. I am so tired of trying to make the fish taste good that I've stopped looking for interesting recipes. I need to put in a little extra effort and take the time to make the fish more appealing, I suppose. I will try the atlantic salmon recipe you posted. I saved it...
  17. Does he have an actual meat allergy? I know them to be extremely rare. Nevermind. I see where you said he outgrew that. That is good. I have read about meat allergy. I knew a mother many years ago with a child who she said had a meat allergy. He was actually allergic to the packaging material of the meat! That is where I learned about how rare...

  19. I had a metalic taste in my mouth while pregnant. I believe it was due to hormones. Could it be that she is experiencing fluctuating hormones due to stress from her terrible situation? Best of luck.
  20. Carla, I believe you are very wise. Tiffany, I get that way as well. I am enthusiastic about something and can dominate the conversation. Other times I am so interested in new information that I become too quiet as I try to absorb what more informed people say. I have found that friends come and go. Usually, one from a group will remain. That one becomes...
  21. I do not use egg. I never have. No egg or bread product in my meatloaf, either. They stay together, as you say, just as a hamburger would. For years, I have also used turkey, not beef for my meatloaf and meatballs.
  22. So true! I can do this because I am intersted in others. I realize now that I've been overthinking this. I've probably been blind to some interest paid to me. This is possible.
  23. I actually feel very liberated by this whole discussion. I am realizing things about myself that indicate a need for change. Not a change from who I am, but a change in letting go of the control that I've become so fond of as a result of living with an alcoholic for so many years. I already have many tools for this as a result of two years of Al Anon meetings...
  24. Oh no. I realize the problem. You know, I never knew how to flirt! I am a terrible flirt. I'm not even a terrible flirt - I'm a non-flirt. I don't know how. You have found the problem. I remember dating as a teenager. I was not a flirt then, either. There has got to be a book I can get. Do you know of any? I suppose I can google it. I am speechless...
  25. My children love stuffed peppers. They require chopped meat. Rice Tomatoe sauce spices to your liking. Line a baking dish with tinfoil to make clean-up easy. Peppers can remain in the oven if your scheduals are not even. A Kinik english muffin, sliced in half with olive oil and garlic salt, makes a wonderful piece of garlic toast to accompany...
