  1. Do try vanilla soy in your coffee. I don't like soy milk to drink, but I love it in my latte. I found I had to cut back on how much dairy I too in at a time, and my latte's were making me sick. With a heavy heart I decided to try soy in one. My "supplyer" suggested vanilla soy, and I like better than with milk! Who knew a latte could get any better...

    ARCHIVED Just Diagnosed..

It took awhile for me to notice more energy. I'm still not a 100%, but continuing to feel better. I can have dairy, just not a ton, but I have problems with fresh veggies. Well cooked is ok, but the fresh ones kill me. Just remember, your intestine is damaged and will need time to heal. How long that takes depends on your health, how bad it's damaged...
  3. I understand about the hating to cook from scratch. I've said before that at times I resent the time I now spend in the kitchen. I also resent the time and/or money making/buying new gluten free things thing and throwing them out. I have always had bad eating habits and have the taste of a teenager. These are a few of the things that keep me going: ...
  4. If Blake goes before the final two, I'll be done. I can't believe how odd this year is. Many of the singers aren't that great, those who are, are boring. And the worst singer, (how did he make the cut in the first place) is still there. I don't get it.
  5. This does not surprise me. I had found out a few years ago that doctors use a book to decide which drugs to give you for your ailments. These books are provided by the pharmaceutical companies. The meds your doc prescribes for you are based on those books and how his other patients respond to them.
  6. I had a meeting last night and missed the show. Last year that would bug me, this year, I don't care. It had been too boring. I'm a little sorry I missed Blake and Gina. I was listening to a radio show and they were talking about a poll People (I think that was the magazine) did. The readers voted and it predicted Blake the winner and Sanjaya second...
  7. I had to use spoilers on 14 and 15, and even after getting them, I don't get it. I'm afraid that whatever ever way they got that answer is beyond me and will keep me from getting answers in the future.
  8. When my oldest was three, I was making a "real" meal. Had all four burners going and the stove. I didn't realize how long it had been since I had done that until Robin walked in and said she was hungry. When I told her I was fixing dinner. She got a puzzled look on her face, pointed at the microwave and said, "but it's not on". That gives a accurate account...
  9. Evil! I do sudoku, kakuro, and logic puzzles, but these are beyond me.
  10. The frustration was in part the money, we are not rich and eating healthy is expensive. The other part is I hate to cook (would rather do any house hold job than cook). So I wasted money, and time, doing something It's been hard on me having to do more "real" cooking instead of box food. I just remind myself it will be better for me and the kids. I hated...
  11. I want a cook who will make wonderful, healthy gluten free food. (I think it's supposed to be me ). I've got the gluten free down, now just need healthy and wonderful. Thanks for all the shoulders to cry on, and the new things to try. I'm doing much better today. I was even able to get my kids pizza.
  12. Hi, excuse my rant. I was very over the top yesterday. Granted some of it was tongue-in-cheek, but I was angry. I hate throwing out food. I feel better now. darlinbeb: it was a all purpose baking mix, with a recipe for brownies on the back. Anything that requires me to do more than add eggs, oil and water is from scratch
  13. So, I buy rice wraps by some Ezekiel Co. and feed it to the dog. I buy some bread and feed it to the dog, I buy Annie's mac and cheese and put it down the disposal (cheese and dog don't do well). So today I make some gluten free brownies from scratch (I hate to bake from scratch). They are horrible, and I can't give the dog chocolate. The Hodgson Mills...
  14. Vydorscope is right. People always feel the need to say too much. I use to work in a corp. HR, and you do not owe them any reason for leaving. To unload or not to unload? There are several things to consider. First and foremost, can they really use it against you? A company that doesn't want a lawsuit will not share anything that is not documented...
  15. Isn't October 2007 in the future? or is that a prediction? It's on your signature :)

  16. That is too sweet! My daughter would tell her grandpa that he has a strong belly.
  17. Wow, I can't believe the kid is still there. I was a Chris S. fan, but he lost his edge, and got an attitude. I haven't been disappointed by anyone who went home, just surprised by who has stayed. I kinda feel bad for the kid. I read somewhere that he knows he should go home and how the adult America feels, and wishes he'd get voted off. I do give him...

    ARCHIVED Testing Kids

Thanks! I really appreciate you all giving me your input. My daughter is going in for 6 yr. check-up next month, I'll talk to her doctor then. Suzie, I'm looking up those web sights as soon as I get done with this, thanks for that. I'll also look up Enterolab and see about genetic testing.
  19. You name your child whatever sounds good to you. As someone one mentioned we live in a day where kids have all kinds of names. You no longer have to worry about your child being the only kid with an odd name in class. And your names aren't odd at all. I'm also into family names. I've always disliked my full name, but was ok with it because I was named...
  20. I have Celiac. I thought I was the only one in the family, but when I told my aunt what I had, and the symptoms she wondered if she and her granddaughter had it. My kids show no signs of it. I have noticed that a lot of people have their kids tested. I was wondering why, did they show signs, or were you just wondering? Is there a good reason for...
  21. Oh, no peanut butter. That is also one of my favorites, so sorry. They took my gall bladder out first. The test showed it was irritated. It wasn't until after I found out that I had Celiac that I found out my gall bladder could get better (I didn't have stones) if I went gluten free. I was a little upset, after my deductible and paying 20% we...
  22. Final three? I like Gina's style, but I think she needs more training. Lakisha is good, but lacks a interesting stage persona. I also think Melinda is awesome, but I don't know if she will pull in the votes. My favorites is Blake and Jordin. They are both hugely talented, good looking, and have awesome stage presence. I don't vote. I can hardly stay...
  23. Yeah, I'm over weight, and I gained while having untreated celiac AND after going gluten free. Luck, luck me
  24. Before I went gluten free, I always had stomach problems, but bread and pasta made up 80% of my diet. Now that I am gluten free I never get sick, even with cross contamination. I don't know if I'll get more sensitive as time goes on, but for now it's a double edged sword. On one hand I have time to get use to being on this diet without getting sick at...
