ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?
Jo.R replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I couldn't watch last night and just found out Chris was in the bottom two. There are quit few people who I thought should have been in his spot. I think he is better than Phil, Sanjaya, and Haley. Oh well, there is something wrong when Sanjaya has made it this far. I saw on a talk show this morning that the little girl crying was sort of a plant. The... -
ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?

I love Son of a Preacher Man! I married a MK/PK and would joke that we should have had that played at our wedding . I did think Sanjaya sounded better, but I couldn't buy him as a bad boy. -
I am one of the luck ones, in that, cross contamination doesn't bother me. It takes quit a bit of gluten to set me off. My kids had gluten food, and fruit. My kids like pop tarts, you'd only have to open the bag, and not touch the food. Of course you kids are younger, so someones going to have to pick the peices out of the car seat later .

I hated traveling when the kids were that small. It is so nice when you can take DVD's to entertain. Of course I have kids who don't sleep in the car so it's really nice now that they are old enough to want to watch movies. Good luck on the trip.

I went 500 mile trip without once having to worry about where the rest stops were! Last time we made this trip I had to stop three times because of D. If I'd know going gluten free would have improved my life this much I wouldn't have hesitated to do it.

You are not overreacting. This is your child and something is wrong. Keep pushing. Too many people suffer needlessly because they don't push their doctors. I like the idea of recording the "spells".

ARCHIVED First Time Emergency Out Of Town Situation
Jo.R replied to jerseygrl's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I have a picky eater, and what has helped is she helps plan meals, shop and make it. If she has made that effort she will eat what is made with a few exceptions. I don't fight much with my kids about food, unless it's something they like but are being picky about that day, then they don't get anything else until they finish it. My oldest will sometimes... -
I was just wondering if anyone has ever used Colonix? I was going to use it before I found out I had Celiac. Now I don't think it's too good of a idea, I'm not even sure if it's gluten free. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has used it.

ARCHIVED Getting Life Insurance With A Diagnosis Of Celiac
Jo.R replied to shelby1's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Can employer health insurance deny people with chronic health conditions? At what point is the Celiac diagnosis passed onto the insurance company? -
ARCHIVED Poll:cut Or Wear Your Hair How You Want?
Jo.R replied to LoveBeingATwin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
My husband perfers long hair, but I keep it short. I have evil hair that wants to take all my time My hair has just enough body to have to be blowed dryed, it's oily so I have to wash everyday. My hair is also thick, it could take over a half hour to dry it when it's long. I have two small kids, and little time to mess with it. now it takes five minutes... -
ARCHIVED Does Anyone Work With Their Husband?
Jo.R replied to LoveBeingATwin's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Working together just about ruined the marriage of severl people I know. To make two couples had to quit working together, and on couple had to have a very serious long talk to set up bounderies, and rehash that every week or so for months until they got it right. I think it's harder in family business, because one person feels they are the boss instead... -
ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?

I wish I could do that, but since my husband had to be in bed by 7:00pm he records his favorite show. I just play a game on the computer while its on. If I had to just sit and watch the show, I'd quit. This is the worst year. -
ARCHIVED Has Anyone Been This Stupid ?
Jo.R replied to georgie's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
Georgie, I hope you are lucky enough to avoid being sick, or at least too sick. I have done similar things several times. I tasted my pasta to see if it was done, and then tasted their pasta, licked my finger after getting clam chowder on it, ate a peice of my kids cereal when it fell out of the bowl.... Anyway, good luck. -
ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?

To quote Randy "I just wasn't loving it". Last night was not as good as I would have hoped. Blake was good, Gina was fun even though she does have a habit of yelling power songs. Of corse Melinda was awesome. Even though there were other great singers, I found the performances boring. I can not believe how bad Chris S. killed the song. I hope next week... -
Thanks all! Cramps have been fine since having kids, but I tell you I have never experienced such dark moods in my life.

ARCHIVED Autism- New Study And A Few Questions
Jo.R replied to a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Well, crap! I would not have had them get the shots at that time. I home school so I didn't have to worry about the school thing. Here I thought I was doing the best for my kids... They are 4 1/2 and 6, that should be past the time when autism would come out, isn't it? -
ARCHIVED Autism- New Study And A Few Questions
Jo.R replied to a topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I did reasearch before letting my kids have the MMR, and what I found said that Mercury has not been used in childhood vaccines since 2000/2001. On the other hand, the flu vaccine does have mercury. Is this info wrong? -
LOL, I can't believe I got PMS wrong, can I blame it on gluten too?
-
I had my tubes tied with baby #2 (11-02). The point is I quit taking the pill. I didn't noticed a difference at first, but it seems that my PMS has gotten really bad (dark moods). I thought it was not being on the pill anymore. Now I'm wondering if it could be gluten? Anyone else?

ARCHIVED Relationships And Gluten..help!
Jo.R replied to bremac's topic in Coping with Celiac Disease
I'd would tell him, as soon as you can without it being a big deal. You don't want to be forced to tell him when it may be emarassing (he surprises you with something you can't eat, or asks if you have an eating disorder because you hide when food comes out). If he finds it too much and walks, it would be better now than when you are too attached. Not to... -
That was fun, and it was 100% on for me. Does that mean I'm uncomplicated? Mood: Dreamer Fun: Escape Artist Habbits: Bac to Basics Love: Home Soul I do have to say I thought the picture of a guy reading on the toliet was funny, considering how close a relationship I have had with my toliet.

ARCHIVED Rant, Friend Problems..
Jo.R replied to num1habsfan's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
I would take a step back and see what kind of person she is besides this one issue. If she has been suportive in the past, a good friend, and unselfish then try to work it out. Even the best people get caught up in their own world at times. On the other hand, if you have been the driving force in the friendship, and it often seems to be all about her,... -
ARCHIVED American Idol Fans?
Jo.R replied to blueeyedmanda's topic in Introduce Yourself / Share Stuff
Spoiler! I can't believe that Sanjaya is still there, I'm also a little surprised Haley is still on. I'm watching Sundance get kicked off right now. I predict Haley , Sanjaya, and another guy will be the next three to go. But we can all see how well I have predicted in the past . I think Sundance is doing a better job on his song tonight than last... -
